Product Overview

ASUS ROG Strix XG43UQ is a premium 43-inch 4K UHD gaming monitor with 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, 90% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, and DisplayHDR 1000 support.
The ROG Strix XG43UQ is an upgrade of the XG438Q from 2019 and can be considered a twin model of the ROG Swift PG43UQ. Compared to the ROG Swift model, the XG43UQ drops G-Sync support and supports FreeSync Premium Pro instead. It adds DisplayPort and HDMI 2.1 ports. Together, these differences make the XG43UQ more suitable for console gaming as well as less extreme PC gamers.
Indeed, ASUS also markets an Xbox Edition of the XG43UQ. This version includes a built-in Xbox mode but is otherwise identical to the standard monitor.

tomshardware[1]

Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
The XG43UQ is a very good gaming monitor and only the overdrive artifacts keep it from being a great one. However, for video and other tasks, it excels. Contrast is as good as any VA panel we’ve reviewed. Asus included the ability to size the OSD large or small which is nice if you sit back.
Pros
  • Excellent gaming performance
  • Large size
  • Good color accuracy
Cons
  • Overdrive artifacts
  • Slow response times

trustedreviews[2]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
With HDR activated the panel hit a peak brightness of 1070 nits and a black point of 0.2 nits. This means a fantastic contrast ratio of 5350:1. The Asus rendered 91.5% of the HDR-friendly DCI-P3 gamut. Conventional syncing delivers enough smooth imagery to make games look decent, and the Overdrive and ELMB options only have a minor impact on clarity.
Pros
  • Big, bold picture
  • Bright 120Hz refresh rate
  • Great contrast ratio
Cons
  • Lack of HDR support
  • No Dolby Vision
