Product Overview

HP ENVY x360 15z-ee100 is a sleek 15.6-inch 2-in-1 convertible laptop in HP's 2021 premium consumer lineup. It is an incremental upgrade from last year's 15z-ee000, being powered by AMD's Ryzen 5000-series mobile processors.
As has always been the case in this series, the ENVY x360 15 shares many design elements of the clamshell ENVY 15. It also pays for its 2-in-1 form factor with compromises in performance.
Notably, the ENVY x360 15z-ee100 forgoes discrete graphics and has a smaller set of physical I/O ports, though it offers up-to-date wireless connectivity options such as WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

digitaltrends[1]

Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The Envy x360 15 is an attractive, well-built, and very powerful laptop for $1,000. But unfortunately, HP didn't choose a display that lives up to the laptop's alleged focus on creators. It's not as fast in CPU-intensive apps, but its GPU will help it burn through processes that can take advantage of it.
Pros
  • Attractive, well-built design
  • Excellent performance
  • Great keyboard and touchpad
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • No Thunderbolt 4
  • No Thunderbolt 3

laptopmag[2]

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from laptopmag have found:
The HP Envy x360 15 is a solid choice for mobile professionals or college students who need something relatively lightweight. Thanks to its AMD 5700U processor, the notebook can handle most of your work and entertainment needs. The 720p IR webcam is par for the course for integrated webcams. It is far less expensive than the Dell Latitude 7320 (starting $1,486)
Pros
  • Sleek, lightweight design
  • Solid performance
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Lack of security features
  • Lacks a stylus

notebookcheck[3]

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
The AMD-powered 2021 Envy x360 15 is essentially a leaner and faster version of the Spectre X360 15. A nice surprise on this model is its full sRGB touchscreen which comes very well calibrated without any end-user tinkering. Traction is smooth at fast speeds, but the finger tends to stick when gliding at medium speeds or slower.
Pros
  • Sleek, lightweight design
  • Full sRGB coverage
  • Good keyboard and touchpad
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No Thunderbolt 3

pcmag[4]

Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
All five convertibles easily cleared the 4,000-point score that indicates excellent productivity in PCMark 10. Microsoft Office and Google Docs are as easy for these machines as PCMark 8's storage test was for their swift SSDs. The Spectre is the only entrant here with a discrete GPU instead of humble integrated graphics.
Pros
  • Gorgeous 4K screen
  • Solid performance for a desktop replacement
  • Comfortable keyboard and touchpad
Cons
  • Pricier than competitors
  • Lacks integrated graphics

techradar[5]

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The keys themselves are comfortable to type on and have good travel. The trackpad is decent enough, but nothing particularly special. There are a good number of ports, including an SDCard slot, two USB Type-C ports. The webcam on the HP Envy x360 15 (2021) is decent, but with 720p, you're not going to be getting a fantastic picture with it.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Good performance
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No stylus

tomshardware[6]

Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
The HP Envy x360 15 is a smartly designed premium 15-inch convertible. At $999, it's a good option, especially for those doing video editing or other threaded tasks. With 8 cores and 16 threads, it outperforms similarly sized Intel-based alternatives. The convertible's primary problem is that when it comes to AMD-based laptops, it lasts longer.
Pros
  • Good keyboard and display
  • Good battery life
  • Comfortable keyboard and touchpad
Cons
  • Mediocre CPU performance
  • No dedicated GPU
