LG TONE Free FP5 (UFP5) are true wireless headphones with active noise cancellation in LG's 2021 TONE Free lineup. The TONE-FP5 is rather similar to the FP8 unveiled at the same time, though it loses wireless charging and offers a shorter battery life.
Like the FN7 from 2020 as well as the FP8 and FP9, the FP5 comes with active noise cancellation (ANC) with the same 3-mic setup. Still, it is noteworthy that this is not the most advanced ANC system available on the market right now, as only one pair of the three microphones is used for ANC. Instead, they prioritize call quality.
The FP5 also features 8mm diaphragms that are notably larger than earlier TONE Free models.
Like other LG TONE Free earbuds, the TONE-FP5 features audio processing by Meridian Audio. It recreates a broad soundstage while delivering clear and precise vocals.
The self-sanitizing charging case featured in the TONE Free series is here again. Using ultraviolet light, the case eliminates 99.9% of E. coli and S. aureus bacteria on the earbuds' inner mesh. It has the LED status light from the FP5 that makes it easy to monitor charging level and UVnano status.
