Product Overview
Sonus faber Minima Amator II is the smaller of two bookshelf loudspeakers in the company's Heritage collection. Its design echoes that of Minima Amator from 1992, though its drivers and crossover feature the latest technologies from the Italian marque.
Unlike the larger Electa Amator III, the Minima Amator II does not come with matching stands as standard, though the same stands can be purchased separately. This is because the Minima Amator II has a walnut lower cabinet, whereas the Electa has Carrara marble already built into the cabinet that demands the marble in the stand to make whole. It is also possible to pair the Minima Amator II with conventional stands such as the Unicum stand from Sonus faber.
Other premium materials that can be found in these speakers include the brass trim in the cabinet, which can also be found across the Heritage collection, and Sonus faber's signature Italian leather fascia.
The tweeter on the Minima Amator II is a silk dome with Sonus faber's DAD, Damped Apex Dome, technology. The mid-woofer is a paper cone with die-cast aluminum basket.
The third unit in this lineup is the floorstander Maxima Amator.
