Product Overview

Porsche 911 Cabriolet 992 is a convertible in production from 2019. It is available with a range of flat-6 engines that displaced 3.0 to 3.7 liters.
A large part of the reason that owners purchase the Porsche 911 Cabriolet is the flat-6 (H6) engine, which has very low center of gravity, instant power response, and perfect smoothness.
Porsche has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it. Utility-minded owners will likely need to keep an alternative for hauling things around, as the tiny cargo space is almost surely insufficient.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Porsche 911 (992) uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.

Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
Rear wheels are 20in in diameter, the rears span 21in. With the optional Sport Chassis, which drops the ride height by 10mm, that means there’s an enormous rim in each rear wheel arch. On rough ground, the ride quality is therefore very tense and taut. The PDK, which does hunt around too much in automatic mode, is faultless when you’re clipping along and switching ratios yourself.

Pros
  • Powerful engine
  • Impressive handling
  • Decent ride quality
Cons
  • Rear-wheel-drive model feels a little cheap

Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
Thanks to its broad roof panels, the new car’s form is almost indistinguishable from the coupé's and the rear screen is both large and made of glass. At 1635kg, you might argue that a PDK-equipped convertible 4S is heavier than any 911 has a right to be. You also lose the ability to hit 190mph, although we'd wager travelling flat out at 188mph with wind hurtling around the cabin offers a greater thrill.

Pros
  • Phenomenal grip and traction
  • Impressive ride quality
Cons
  • Pricier than the coupé
  • Slightly heavier than the 911

Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
Porsche's top-end 911 is close to being ‘the quickest car in the world’ point to point. There’s no limit on the roof-up top speed, and the roof is quiet at speed. The cockpit isn’t as well protected from buffeting as the best two-seater would be, but it's pretty good.

Pros
  • Gorgeous looks
  • Punchy powertrain
  • Impressive performance
Cons
  • No drop-top
  • Noisy roof-up top speed

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
For the first time on a standard, non-RS 911 the front and rear wheels are different sizes: 20 and 21 inches respectively. The body is also noticeably larger, too, with a squarer front-end and squatter rear; the Cab exaggerating the 911's extra dress size. All 911s come with adaptive dampers, but our test cars came with chassis upgrades including PDCC, PASM, active engine mounts and rear-axle steering.

Pros
  • Gorgeous looks and feel
  • Excellent infotainment system
  • Excellent handling
Cons
  • More expensive than its predecessor

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The Porsche 911 Cabriolet is a brilliant driver's car and a superb grand tourer. It has a wonderful chassis, huge performance and a luxury feel. However, it doesn't ride quite as well as the coupé and the slightly dull engine note – even with a sports exhaust fitted to the car – is rather more disappointing.

Pros
  • Superb handling
  • Superb infotainment system
Cons
  • Slightly dull engine note
  • Not the most fun to drive

3.8-litre flat six in the new 911 Turbo S is the same size as the outgoing model's, but it's all new. The list of improvements is long, and starts with larger variable-geometry twin turbochargers. This Cabriolet version tips the scales at 1,710kg, so it loses out to rivals such as the McLaren 600 LT Spider. But on the road, the Porsche's power-to-weight ratio more than makes up for this.

Pros
  • Superb performance
  • Superb infotainment system
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Expensive for what’s on offer

Reviewers from cnet have found the following***:
Because of the power top's added weight, the Cabriolet has a slight performance penalty compared to the 911 Carrera 4S Coupe. The 911 feels like a goddamn rocket when you mash the throttle. The steering is textbook Porsche perfect, and you'll run out of pavement before the Goodyear Eagle F1 tiresrun out of grip.

Pros
  • Fantastic top-down performance
  • Powerful turbocharged engine
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Pricier than the 4S Coupe
  • No adaptive cruise control

Even in lousy Los Angeles traffic, the 911's stick shift never feels like a chore. The manual transmission just means you get to take a bigger role in the action. The Carrera S Cabriolet weighs 85 pounds less than its PDK equivalent. The 911's interior is the same: handsomely styled, nicely appointed.

Pros
  • Hunchback looks
  • Fantastic powertrain
  • Powerful twin-clutch
Cons
  • Not as powerful as PDK models
