Product Overview

Porsche 911 Cabriolet 992 is a convertible in production from 2019. It is available with a range of flat-6 engines that displaced 3.0 to 3.7 liters.
A large part of the reason that owners purchase the Porsche 911 Cabriolet is the flat-6 (H6) engine, which has very low center of gravity, instant power response, and perfect smoothness.
Porsche has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it. Utility-minded owners will likely need to keep an alternative for hauling things around, as the tiny cargo space is almost surely insufficient.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Porsche 911 (992) uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
Rear wheels are 20in in diameter, the rears span 21in. With the optional Sport Chassis, which drops the ride height by 10mm, that means there’s an enormous rim in each rear wheel arch. On rough ground, the ride quality is therefore very tense and taut. The PDK, which does hunt around too much in automatic mode, is faultless when you’re clipping along and switching ratios yourself.
Pros
  • Powerful engine
  • Impressive handling
  • Decent ride quality
Cons
  • Rear-wheel-drive model feels a little cheap

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 89% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
For the first time on a standard, non-RS 911 the front and rear wheels are different sizes: 20 and 21 inches respectively. The body is also noticeably larger, too, with a squarer front-end and squatter rear; the Cab exaggerating the 911's extra dress size. All 911s come with adaptive dampers, but our test cars came with chassis upgrades including PDCC, PASM, active engine mounts and rear-axle steering.
Pros
  • Gorgeous looks and feel
  • Excellent infotainment system
  • Excellent handling
Cons
  • More expensive than its predecessor

cnet[3]

Reviewer score 97% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
Because of the power top's added weight, the Cabriolet has a slight performance penalty compared to the 911 Carrera 4S Coupe. The 911 feels like a goddamn rocket when you mash the throttle. The steering is textbook Porsche perfect, and you'll run out of pavement before the Goodyear Eagle F1 tiresrun out of grip.
Pros
  • Fantastic top-down performance
  • Powerful turbocharged engine
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Pricier than the 4S Coupe
  • No adaptive cruise control
