Sonus faber Lumina V Floorstanding Loudspeaker

Sonus faber Lumina V is the larger of two floorstanding loudspeakers in the company's new entry-level Lumina collection. Compared to the comparable model in Sonus faber's previous entry point, the Sonetto V, the Lumina V loses the unique Lute shape; still, it retains the leather details and is made in Italy.

The Lumina V features a 3-way bass-reflex design with two 165mm cone woofers, a single 150mm paper cone midrange, and a 29mm DAD tweeter. It is built into a minimalist cabinet with real wood front baffles in three designs: Walnut and Wenge in matte with maple inlays and glossy Piano Black. The cabinet is wrapped in leather everywhere else.

While the Lumina collection has lost Sonus faber's signature Lute shape, the Lumina V has an internal mid-high internal chamber in a Lute shape. This helps it retain Sonus faber's unique sound signature by reducing standing waves. There is a new mid-high crossover network using "Hybrid IFF-Paracross Topology" that reduces the drivers' back electro motive force and lowers its sensitivity to radio frequencies.

The Lumina V is an ideal solution for price-sensitive HiFi-enthusiasts in stereo setups as well as home theatre systems.

Other loudspeakers in the Lumina collection include a smaller floorstander, Lumina III, two bookshelf speakers, Lumina II and Lumina I, and a center-channel speaker, Lumina CI.
