Product Overview

Huawei FreeBuds 4i are midrange true wireless headphones introduced in 2021. Compared to the standard FreeBuds 4, they have a more mundane design and conventional ANC.
The FreeBuds 4i have an ergonomic design conducive for relieving the pressures on the ears during long listening sessions. With two microphones on each earbud, the FreeBuds 4i are able to reduce ambience noise more effectively, while keeping conversation possible.
Compared to the FreeBuds 4, the 4i use smaller 10mm dynamic coil drivers with composite diaphragm. They are great at reproducing clear vocal and punchy bass and may satisfy the younger audience just as well.
On the battery life front, the FreeBuds 4i extend the performance of the FreeBuds 3i and are able to deliver up to 22 hours of playback with charging case. With fast charging, 4 hours of playback time can be added in 10 minutes.

Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from androidauthority have found:
The Huawei FreeBuds 4i sound surprisingly good for their affordable price. Mids and highs sound clear and the bass is loud, but not overwhelming. Active noise-cancelling has become a table-stakes feature on premium true wireless earbuds, but it's still rare in the mid-range segment.
Pros
  • Great sound quality
  • Good battery life
  • Good noise-cancelling
Cons
  • Battery life could be better

nextpit[2]

Reviewer score 58% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from nextpit have found:
The Huawei Freebuds 4i have a 55mAh battery in each earpiece and a 215 mAh battery housed in the charging case itself. With active noise cancellation turned on, the battery life decreases to 7.5 hours of audio playback and an hour less for voice calls. In my real-life experience with it, I managed to eke out 7 hours of usage with the ANC activated. With the ANC deactivated, you can last for almost 14 hours on full charges.
Pros
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Good battery life
  • Good noise cancellation
Cons
  • No ANC adjustment or equalizer
  • No Bluetooth 5.2 support

t3[3]

Reviewer score 71% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from t3 have found:
The Huawei Freebuds 4i have 10mm large dynamic drivers and claim to be tuned for pop music. On each earbud is a dual-microphone, giving you crystal clear calls. Touch controls on the top of the stem are used to pause and play the music or to answer a call without the need to reach for your phone. You can also activate the noise-cancelling or ‘awareness' feature which keeps you aware of your surroundings.
Pros
  • Comfortable fit
  • Good noise cancelling
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Not the best for music
  • No ear detection

trustedreviews[4]

Reviewer score 44% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
The Huawei FreeBuds 4i are built well, have a pocketable case and offer a comfortable fit. They’re feather-light and stay well in the ear, even during a vigorous run. No degree of splash-resistance or ingress protection is quoted by Huawei, and as such these may not be the best buds for a run in the rain. There’s a decently wide soundstage on offer, with good separation between the delicate highs and slightly overbearing bass.
Pros
  • Comfortable fit
  • Good sound quality
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No splash-resistance or ingress protection
  • Limited app selection
