Product Overview

7Artisans 35mm F1.2 Mark II is an ultra-compact large-aperture manual-focus lens designed for most popular APS-C mirrorless systems. Weighing just 150 grams, this all-metal lens is able to off a maximum aperture of f/1.2, thanks to a Planar design.
Thanks to its compactness, bright aperture, and tactile construction, this lens makes for an excellent option for street photography, night photography, and environmental portraits. While its Planar design does not offer the fullest correction, this simple optical formula offers a more classic rendering that many photographers enjoy.
For APS-C shooters, 7Artisans also offers several standard lenses, including the 60mm F2.8 Macro, 35mm F0.95, 18mm F6.3, and 7.5mm F2.8 Fisheye Mark II.

Reviewers from sonyalpha have found:
The 7Artisans 35mm F1.2 Mark II is a new version of the lens that I tested 2 years ago. Compared to the Mark I, there are improvements on several criteria : Better Bokeh balls, better resistance to flare, better colors rendering, less vignetting. Unfortunately there 2 areas where it is weaker : sharpness below F2 and aperture ring which is with click with make it less suitable for video.
Pros
  • Sharpness below F2 is average but as of F4 you reach very good to excellent sharpness everywhere
  • Bokeh balls show decagon shape of of F2.8
  • No Exif transmitted to the body
Cons
  • Aperture ring with click with make it less suitable for video (The Mark I was clickless)
