digitaltrends[1]

Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The JBL Tour One offer an excellent (and cheaper) alternative to Sony and Bose. JBL claims you'll get 50 hours of battery life from the Tour One if you disable ANC. It takes two hours to charge them fully from empty, but you can get three hours of play time from a 10-minute quick charge. The Tour One capture and preserve your voice's deeper tones, the ones that give it depth and resonance.
Pros
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Excellent call quality
  • Great battery life
Cons
  • Lacks a sidetone
  • No Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa

rtings[2]

Reviewer score 26% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The JBL Tour One have a slightly bass-heavy sound profile. You can tweak them to your liking using their companion app's parametric EQ and presets. Their passive soundstage is also poor and feels like it's coming from inside your head. Over 33 hours of continuous playback time should get you through long days on the road.
Pros
  • Comfortable, well-built fit
  • Over 33 hours of continuous battery life
  • Good passive soundstage
Cons
  • Bass-heavy sound profile
  • Mediocre noise cancelling
  • No IP rating for water resistance

Reviewer score 71% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The right earcup's entire outer surface is touch-sensitive, housing a number of controls. Play or pause with a simple tap, or double tap to skip a track. There's no way to repeat a track, but we did appreciate how effective the overall controls were. By default, they play with a balanced, though subdued, sound profile.
Pros
  • Comfortable fit
  • Good battery life
  • Easy to pair with Pixel smartphones
Cons
  • Ambient Aware is a mixed bag
  • No way to repeat a track

whathifi[4]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from whathifi have found:
, under the Noise Cancelling tab, you can select between True Adaptive ANC (which monitors your environment in real-time and alters the level of noise-cancelling automatically) or ‘everyday mode', underneath which is written the somewhat blasé explanation “Block out the noise of everyday life” – but essentially it just means that ANC is on. You've also got an Ambient Sound Control tab, to locate Ambient Aware or TalkThru profiles, and lastly, an interesting new tab called Smart Audio and Video. By selecting one of the three profiles under this tab, JBL allows you to optimise the Bluetooth connection for normal listening.
Pros
  • Class-leading noise-cancelling
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Noise cancelling isn’t effective
  • Poor upper midrange
