Product Overview

Bowers & Wilkins PI7 are flagship true wireless in-ear headphones with active noise cancellation. They are powered by B&W's 9.2mm Dual Hybrid Drive dynamic drivers with individual amplifiers.
The PI7 support the latest Bluetooth Codecs, including all aptX variants for 24-bit high-resolution music streaming with low latency. The Dual Hybrid Drive technology essentially separates the woofers and tweeters for better individual control across the frequency range. Each of the drivers is individually amplified.
For optimal noise cancellation and call quality, the PI7 employ six microphones in a setup similar to B&W's over-ear and on-ear headphones.
The headphones hold 4 hours of battery life and can be fast-charged: 15 minutes of quick charging adds another 2 hours of playback time.
An interesting feature of the PI7 is audio retransmission by the charging case: this allows the charging case to double as the wireless base station for the headphones. For those who do not demand this premium feature and the quad-driver setup, the PI5 may be an interesting alternative.

laptopmag[1]

Reviewer score 62% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from laptopmag have found:
B&W's PI7 wireless earbuds are a must-own. They deliver grade-A noise cancellation that is only second to the QuietComfort Earbuds. The charging case is also a letdown, holding only 20 hours when fully charged. The PI7 has many bells and whistles, but doesn't feel expensive.
Pros
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Excellent noise cancellation
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • No EQ or Find My Buds
  • Poor charging case

pcmag[2]

Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
Bowers & Wilkins' PI7 earphones get just about everything right out of the box. On tracks with intense sub-bass content, the earphones deliver powerful low-frequency response. At top, unwise listening levels, the lows don't distort, and at more moderate volume levels, they still sound robust.
Pros
  • Excellent bass depth and sculpted highs
  • Comfortable fit
  • Easy to use app
Cons
  • Noise cancellation isn’t adjustable

rtings[3]

Reviewer score 29% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Bowers & Wilkins PI7 are passable for neutral sound. While vocals and lead instruments are present and detailed, their sound profile is still very bass-heavy. Some users may find this to sound muddy. Their passive soundstage seems closed-off and as if coming from inside your head, rather than from speakers placed around the room around you.
Pros
  • Lightweight, portable design
  • Comfortable fit
  • Decent passive soundstage
Cons
  • Short continuous battery life
  • No multi-device pairing

t3[4]

Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from t3 have found:
Bowers & Wilkins PI7 are true wireless headphones that are half the price. Music quality is impeccable, but connectivity is a little more average. They're a moment slower to connect than the very best I've tried (the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus and AirPods Pro) However, the feature of using the case as a wireless adapter is just excellent, and seamless.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Excellent noise cancellation
  • Great battery life
Cons
  • No EQ or EQ
  • Average wireless range

techhive[5]

Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techhive have found:
The PI7 are rated at up to four hours for each earbud with an additional four re-charges from the ProCase. A 15-minute charge will give you roughly two hours of battery life. The PI7 join the increasing lineup of true wireless headphones with a suite of noise cancelling features.
Pros
  • High-quality, high-quality audio
  • High-end design
  • Fast-charge feature
Cons
  • Poor battery life
  • No wireless charging

techradar[6]

Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
Bowers & Wilkins PI7 are a more complete and unambiguous listen than most true wireless earbuds we've tested. Low frequency sounds are deep, lavishly textured, utterly disciplined where attack and decay is concerned. Broad-strokes dynamic headroom is considerable, while the second-stage harmonic dynamics of the variations in strums or hits are made plain. Treble control is unarguable certainly, but it can err just slightly on the airy, thin side.
Pros
  • Impressive sound quality
  • Impressive battery life
  • Wireless charging case
Cons
  • No EQ adjustment
  • No touch controls

trustedreviews[7]

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
The B&W PI7 aspire to be an audiophile true wireless. ‘Uncompromising’ is the byword for the PI7. While they sound very good with noise cancelling turned off, music is better served by having it on. With lower-quality streams the soundstage isn’t described with a whole lot of width.
Pros
  • Gorgeous, detailed sound
  • Easy to use
  • Intuitive app
Cons
  • Mediocre battery life
  • No EQ mode

whathifi[8]

Reviewer score 59% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from whathifi have found:
Bowers & Wilkins PI7 wireless earbuds are a class-leading set of in-ears. The PI7's case can act as a ‘retransmitter’ so they can share sound with a second Bluetooth device. It's an impressive USP and brings simple wireless connectivity to in-flight entertainment systems, games consoles and more. Sound clarity is leading in terms of detail and neutrality.
Pros
  • Attractive design
  • Intuitive controls
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No on-ear controls
  • Sound lacks dynamic excitement
