Product Overview
Bowers & Wilkins 606 S2 Anniversary Edition is the larger of two bookshelf loudspeakers in the 7th iteration of B&W's 600-series loudspeakers. Unsurprisingly, it uses a 2-way, bass-reflex construction with B&W's signature Flowport design.
Like other loudspeakers in this generation, the 606 S2 uses a decoupled 1" aluminum dome tweeter found in all non-diamond Bowers & Wilkins speakers as well as Continuum midrange driver. Continuum was first introduced in B&W's 800 Diamond series: It is a refinement over the yellow Kevlar cone.
This generation of B&W's 600-series loudspeakers also include a smaller bookshelf speaker (607 S2), a floorstander (603 S2), a center channel (HTM6 S2), and matching subwoofers. While they are primarily targeting the home entertainment market, the 606 S2 can be used for stereo systems in small rooms.
The matching speaker stand, STAV24 S2, is available for the 606 S2 separately for $200 per pair.

Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Elac Uni-Fi 2.0 UB5.2 likes to play loud but it was also able to play at quieter volumes without sounding too forward. At times, the new 606 brought to mind the 707 S2 with its ability to let the listener peer into a recording. While the 606 highlighted the metallic nature of the guitar and harmonica, the Elac pulled back a little.
Pros
- Sleek design

- Great battery life
Cons

Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)The B&W 606 S2 Anniversary Editions are the company's latest hi-fi speakers. They have an oak finish to go along with the existing black and white options, and an inscription on the tweeter surround to mark the Anniversary status. The biggest differences are heard in the bass. The new version is so much more precise and controlled in this region.
Pros
- Excellent build quality
- More dynamic than the previous model
- Great build quality and finish
Cons
- Bass is a little overblown
