Product Overview

Samsung Q60A is the entry-level option in Samsung's 2021 4K QLED TV lineup. Compared to similarly-designed Q70A, it loses 120Hz refresh rate, the full Quantum Processor 4K processing engine, and variable framerate support; the Q60A also has one fewer HDMI port.
Nevertheless, like premium QLED TVs, the Q60A covers 100% DCI-P3 color space. QLED panels offer some of the best brightness and contrast in the industry today, and the Q60A packs it in a sleek form factor with minimal bezels.
While Samsung has been pushing gaming use of their QLED TVs, it has chosen not to endow the Q60A with variable framerate support, though a low latency mode can still be found.
Naturally, the Q60A comes with a range of smart TV functions, including all major voice assistants as well as Samsung's proprietary Bixby.
Other 2021 conventional 4K QLED models in Samsung's lineup include the Q70A, Q80A, and The Frame. They are joined by the new Neo QLED models.

    External Reviews

    cnet[1]

Reviewer score 58% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from cnet have found:
The Q60A's interface isn't nearly as in-your-face about streaming as, say, the Vizio and to a lesser extent, the Roku-enabled TCL. It lacks stuff like a 120Hz refresh rate, next-gen gaming perks and local dimming found on step-up Samsungs like the QN90A. Connections are fairly standard, with three HDMI inputs, one of which has eARC.
    Pros
    • Bright, color-accurate OLED panel
    • Good sound quality
    Cons
    • No 120Hz refresh rate
    • Lack of smart features

    rtings[2]

Reviewer score 45% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Samsung Q60A is a decent TV overall. It provides good visibility in bright rooms, which is great for watching TV shows or sports. However, it has pretty narrow viewing angles, so it's not the best for watching with a big group in a wide seating arrangement. It has incredibly low input lag for gaming and for use as a PC monitor, but its 60Hz refresh rate and lack of VRR support might disappoint some people.
    Pros
    • Excellent contrast ratio
    • Decent reflection handling
    • Great peak brightness
    Cons
    • Narrow viewing angles
    • No local dimming
    • Doesn't get bright enough to combat glare

    techhive[3]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from techhive have found:
The Q60A is a basic 10-bit, 60Hz, 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) panel. It sports the company's dual-LED technology introduced with last year's T-series. Color is enhanced with quantum dots, and there's a decent amount of usable peak brightness at around 450 nits.
    Pros
    • Excellent picture quality
    • Dual-LED lighting
    • Good motion compensation
    Cons
    • No local zone dimming
