Product Overview

Huawei MateBook D 16 is a powerful 16.1-inch laptop powered by AMD Ryzen 4000H-series processors. It is an upgrade from the MateBook D 15 from 2020, though it still uses Zen 2 processors from last year.
Still, rather than the 4000U-series CPUs found in the 15.6-inch model, the MateBook D 16 opts for the H-series processors with higher TDP and clock.
Like other MateBook laptops, the D 16 features ultra-narrow bezels, reaching 90% screen-to-body ratio. It still retains a rich set of connectivity options, including two USB-C, two USB-A, and one full-size HDMI ports.

Reviewer score 66% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
Huawei relies on AMD's integrated Radeon RX Vega 6 in the MateBook D 16. With a frame rate of 99.7%, the operating speed of the iGPU also remains stable over prolonged periods of time as 3DMark's Time Spy stress test shows. The device still outperforms the average reached by other laptops with AMD Vega 6 graphics, but it can't quite keep up with the remaining comparison candidates.
Pros
  • Matte IPS display
  • Good battery life
  • Good system performance
Cons
  • No SD card reader
  • No Thunderbolt 3
