Product Overview

ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 UX581 is ASUS's flagship 15.6-inch dual-screen laptop that reinvents the conventional clamshell form factor by adding a full-width ScreenPad Plus.
The UX581 is one of the first laptops to ever feature a 4K UHD OLED touch screen on the market. Moreover, its ScreenPad Plus adds another 4K IPS touch screen to give the device more display area than any similarly-sized laptop has ever delivered. The ScreenPad Plus also brings new possibilities to interact with the laptop. Its numeric keypad / touchpad combo solution is elegant as it is utilitarian.
A unique advantage of the ZenBook Pro Duo's new form factor is the raise of the ScreenPad Plus when the lid is flipped open: This opens a large vent that significantly improves heat management, allowing the device to pack a lot of power in a more compact chassis.
Launched at the end of the market cycle of the 9th-gen Intel Coffee Lake processors, the ZenBook Pro Duo 15 UX581 was upgraded in 2020 with 10th-gen Intel Comet Lake processors.
Alongside the 15.6-inch model, ASUS also introduced the 14-inch ZenBook Pro Duo 14.

Reviewer score 64% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
The UX581 is relatively power efficient when considering that it has to power two displays. Power consumption ranges from 19 W to 35 W when idling on desktop compared to only 3 W to 11 W on Asus' smaller ZenBook 15 UX533. High volume settings will cause the front corners of the chassis and clickpad to vibrate.
Pros
  • 2:1 dual screen
  • Bright, high-contrast screen
  • Good battery life
  • Good speakers
Cons
  • No Thunderbolt 3
  • No SD card reader
