Product Overview

JBL CLUB ONE is the flagship over-ear wireless headphone from JBL's CLUB series. It sports a pair of 40mm dynamic drivers and boasts up to 45 hours of battery life and can be recharged in under 2 hours.
With the ANC on, the CLUB ONE delivers 23 hours of play time via Bluetooth or 25 hours wired. Its active noise cancellation makes it possible to immersive oneself in the music, with ambient noise filtered out.
The JBL CLUB ONE features High Res certified graphene drivers and True Adaptive Noise Cancellation + SilentNow listening capabilities. The ambient sound is monitored 50,000 times per second, and the headphones adapt noise cancellation for the user's environment. It also compensates for sound leakage caused by clothes, hair, or movement, etc. The SilentNow feature allows ANC to be turned on when listening wired.
Among headphones in the CLUB series, the CLUB ONE comes with the richest set of features and accessories, including a full leather headband, hard carrying case, a flight adapter as well as 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter.

digitaltrends[1]

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
JBL claims its True Adaptive Noise Cancelling responds to the environment and changes in real-time to adapt by compensating for sound leakage caused by factors like hair, eyeglasses, and head movement. In practice, it couldn't block out droning sounds like bathroom fans, dehumidifiers, and blow dryers as well as the Sony WH-1000XM3. At $350, JBL has priced the Club One headphones near the top of a highly competitive field.
Pros
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Powerful ANC
  • Excellent call quality
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Average ANC performance
  • Awkward EQ

pcmag[2]

Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
With ANC engaged, deep lows (like you hear on a plane or train) are substantially tamped down. The ANC has a little more trouble with sounds like office chatter and keyboard typing. JBL estimates battery life to be roughly 25 hours with both ANC and Bluetooth engaged, or up to 45 hours with only Bluetooth.
Pros
  • Strong audio performance
  • Solid noise cancellation
  • Comfortable fit
Cons
  • Lacks bass depth

rtings[3]

Reviewer score 45% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The JBL CLUB ONE are alright for mixed use. They're comfortable for most uses, and their battery life lasts over a day. They have a fairly balanced, neutral sound with a touch of extra bass suitable for DJing. On the downside, their somewhat large soundstage sounds unnatural, closed-off, and as if it's coming from inside your head.
Pros
  • Comfortable and stable design
  • Companion app offers parametric EQ plus presets
  • Decent battery life
Cons
  • Bass-heavy soundstage
  • Bulky design

techradar[4]

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
JBL's Club One headphones feature an 'adaptive' noise-cancellation system. The mic array monitors ambient conditions as often as 50,000 times per second. The ‘My JBL Headphones' app brings an impressive degree of customisation to the Club One experience.
Pros
  • Impressive noise-cancellation
  • Easy-to-use app
Cons
  • Noise reduction isn’t for everyone

trustedreviews[5]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
The JBL Club One sounds very good, verging on excellent, but just falls short of the top tier in what is an extremely tough field. Treble is clear and detailed – perhaps not the sharpest but it stands out and, I feel, is more articulate than the Sony WH-1000XM3. The JBLs are good at reducing environmental sounds, but not at the type of heavy-duty noise-cancelling that its rivals can offer.
Pros
  • Powerful, detailed sound
  • Comfortable fit
  • Easy to use app
Cons
  • Noise cancellation isn’t as effective as rivals
