Product Overview

Jeep Gladiator (JT) is a pickup truck based on the JL Jeep Wrangler. It comes with two V6 engine options, including a 3.0L diesel that has just become available in Europe.
Like the Wrangler, the Jeep Gladiator uses a traditional body-on-frame construction with solid front and rear axles for uncompromised offroad capabilities. Also like the Wrangler, the Gladiator is a convertible, with both a soft top and a hard top on offer.
Jeep has endowed the JT Gladiator with its latest driver aid and infotainment technologies.

autoexpress[1]

Reviewer score 76%
Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
Gladiator is no taller or wider than a Wrangler – and at 5,539mm long, it's only 200mm longer than the Mercedes X-Class. That length means there's a 1,531mm load bay, as well as plenty of room inside for five people to travel long distances in comfort. Unladen, it doesn't have the uncomfortable bounce of many pick-ups, with a ride that's compliant over all but the very worst surfaces. The 3.6-litre V6 isn't there for its sprinting abilities, but it's whisper-quiet.

Pros
  • Terrific off-road performance
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Lots of accessories
Cons
  • Not the best off-roader

Reviewers from cnet have found the following***:
The 2020 Jeep Gladiator Mojave starts around $45,000, including $1,495 for delivery. Depending on trim level the Gladiator can haul anywhere from 1,105 to 1,700 pounds in the bed. The Mojave can handle 1,200 pounds of payload and tow up to 6,000 pounds.

Pros
  • Great off-road manners
  • Great suspension
  • Solid on-road performance
Cons
  • Mojave is more expensive than other Gladiators

Reviewers from cnet have found the following***:
The Gladiator Rubicon EcoDiesel is rated to return 22 miles per gallon combined. Diesel engines are great for towing, but due to some engine cooling issues, Jeep recommends pulling a maximum of 6,000 pounds. The Gladiator has no problem handling just about any off-roading scenario, including rocks and ruts.

Pros
  • EcoDiesel engine is great for off-roading
  • Excellent off-road performance
  • Excellent fuel economy
Cons
  • No automatic transmission
  • Not as comfortable as a Wrangler

digitaltrends[4]

Reviewers from digitaltrends have found the following***:
The 2020 Jeep Gladiator joins the small but competitive midsize-truck segment. Jeep only had fuel economy estimates for the 3.6-liter gasoline V6 ready in time for publication. The 4:10-ratio Dana 44 axles and rock rails are items any serious off-road enthusiast will want to fit.

Pros
  • Excellent off-road capability
  • Good on-road manners
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Cramped and dated cabin
  • Poor ride quality
