At its closest focus, the Rokinon 45mm projects subjects onto the sensor at 1:8.3 life-size. The Sigma 45 goes to 9.5 inches for 1:4 magnification, and Tamron's 35mm F2.8 nets 1:2 results. The build matches the asking price, with a plastic-feeling barrel and no weather protection.
Pros
  • Quick, quiet focus
  • Strong autofocus
  • Dust and splash protection
Cons
  • Lacks focus breathing
  • No weather protection

sonyalpha[2]

Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from sonyalpha have found:
The build quality of this lens is very good and is better than the 35 or 24mm. Performance are also better and close to the new Samyang 85mm F1.4 AF Samyang is really becoming a key actor for the E mount system with high quality lens at decent price and size AF was fast silent and reliable in wide focus area mode.
Pros
  • Very fast aperture F1.8 and small form factor (56mm vs e.g. 70mm for the Sony A7RIII)
  • Good bokeh balls wide open, efficient AF, small/light/cheap on a full frame mirrorless
  • Very good results in term of Bokeh and color rendition in video
Cons
  • A little bit curvature of field
  • Not as good as a Sony lens
