Product Overview

Samsung Galaxy S21+ is a high-end 5G smartphone that features a 5nm octa-core processors, Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, and three rear-facing cameras. It shares much of the same features with the S21, but the S21+ comes with a bigger battery and a larger display. Unlike the plastic-backed S21, the larger model retains the glass back that consumers have come to expect of the best from the South Korean marque.
Compared to the Galaxy S20+ from 2020, the Galaxy S21+ removes the micro-SD card slot and reduces the resolution of the display. As a tradeoff, the new 5nm processors promise increased power efficiency as well as speed. Samsung has also endowed the S21+ a new, stylish design.
Alongside the Galaxy S21+, Samsung also unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked 2021 the smaller Galaxy S21 and the larger Galaxy S21 Ultra as well as the sleek true wireless headphones, the Galaxy Buds Pro.

Reviewers from digitaltrends have found the following***:
The Samsung Galaxy S21+ may appear to be the middle child of the 2021 S-series range. It's pretty and capable, but it doesn't push any boundaries, or spearhead any exciting advancements. Provided you're not set on an Android phone, the Apple iPhone 12 Pro is the better purchase for $1,000. If Android is an essential, the OnePlus 9 series is on its way very soon.

Pros
  • Excellent camera performance
  • Excellent battery life
  • Excellent performance
Cons
  • No IP68 rating
  • No wireless charging

Reviewers from nextpit have found the following***:
The Galaxy S21+'s camera delivers a good performance, but it probably still lags behind the S21 Ultra. It is probably left further behind the likes of the Mate 40 Pro(+), the Huawei P40(+) and also the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The new fingerprint sensor does a very good job, as I've mentioned.

Pros
  • Bright 120 Hertz display
  • Long battery life
  • Good camera performance
Cons
  • Slow charging
  • No aptX codec support
  • Slow Wi-Fi

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy S21+ with a large 4800-mAh battery. The two Dolby Atmos speakers produce an acceptable sound with balanced mids and highs. Headphones and speakers can be connected via USB-C adapter or wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.0. Samsung supports the Bluetooth SBC, AAC, aptX, and LDAC codecs.

  • Very good battery life
  • High-end hardware

techadvisor[4]

Reviewers from techadvisor have found the following***:
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus sports a 4,800mAh battery. Samsung has dropped the fast charge of this year's range, capping it at 25W compared to 45W on offer from last year's model. There's also 10W wireless charging support, and if you need to top-up your Qi-enabled wireless earbuds or smartwatch, there's 5W reverse wireless charging on offer too. It's much cheaper than the S20 Plus, particularly in the US, which launched at a whopping £999/$1,199.

Pros
  • Fantastic performance
  • Great cameras
  • Great battery life
Cons
  • No ultra-wide-angle camera
  • No headphone jack

techradar[5]

Reviewers from techradar have found the following***:
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus runs Android 11 with Samsung's interface One UI 3.0. It may take up to a year before you can get Android 12 on this phone, even if Google releases the update in August. Samsung has followed Apple in choosing not to include a charger in the box, with the thinking being that most people will have a USB-C charger at home.

Pros
  • Great battery life
  • Fast performance
Cons
  • No microSD card slot
  • No expandable storage

tomsguide[6]

Reviewers from tomsguide have found the following***:
With the Galaxy S21 series, Samsung introduced One UI 3.1. Samsung wants you to use its features out of the box, including Edge Panels and the Bixby shortcut. The paginated app drawer in the One UI launcher is frustrating. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is right around the corner, and it's rumored to start at $999.

Pros
  • Great performance
  • Great battery life
  • Good camera performance
Cons
  • One UI is a relic of the past
  • No telephoto camera

trustedreviews[7]

Reviewers from trustedreviews have found the following***:
The Galaxy S21 Plus comes with a near-identical camera setup to the S20 Plus. Around the back you’ll find a tri-camera comprising a 12-megapixel main, 64- megapixel telephoto and 12-Megapixel ultra-wide sensors. Round the front is a 10-megixels camera in a central hole-punch placement in the screen. In reasonable light the camera performs well, with the main sensor proving wonderfully reactive and offering fast autofocus speeds. Portrait mode also manages to produce a much better bokeh effect than that seen of many rival phones, such as the OnePlus 8T.

Pros
  • Fantastic performance
  • Excellent battery life
  • Excellent cameras
Cons
  • Battery life could be better
  • No wireless charging
