Product Overview

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro are premium true wireless headphones with active noise cancellation that comes with a 2-way design that separates the tweeter and woofer drivers.
Thanks to this separation, the 11mm woofers and 6.5mm tweeters are able to deliver a broader and flatter frequency response, with minimum distortion.
Using three pairs of microphones, the Galaxy Buds Pro use both feed-back and feed-forward for reducing ambient noise. At the same time, it also provides an adjustable Ambient Sound mode, affording the user the flexibility for conversations and for situational awareness whenever they desire.
Alongside the Galaxy Buds Pro, Samsung unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked 2021 its latest flagship smartphones Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Reviewers from androidauthority have found:
Samsung's Galaxy Buds Pro offer very accurate output. frequency response shows a notable bump in bass reproduction. The microphone is very accurate, offering neutral output across the vocal range. At $199, they barely sneak in below two Benjamins, but they're significantly cheaper than options like the AirPods Pro and Sony WF-1000XM3.
Pros
  • Excellent noise-canceling
  • Good microphone
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No aptX codec support
  • No wireless charging

Audio passthrough works, but you can't get around the awkwardness of talking to people with it. Comfort is excellent, letting you wear them for hours on end and maximize their five-to-eight-hour battery life. The only issue with the Buds Pro design is the touch controls — which is a pretty big issue.
Pros
  • Great sound quality
  • Comfortable fit
  • Good noise cancellation
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Touch controls aren’t customizable
  • Touch controls are frustrating

gizmodo[3]

Reviewers from gizmodo have found:
The Galaxy Buds Pro have great audio quality, a comfy lightweight fit, and slightly better battery life than Apple's heavily praised alternatives. The buds can soak up enough juice for 30 extra minutes of playback with just a five-minute nap in their charging case. The Sony WF-1000XM3 and Apple AirPods Pro are all my favorites for loudness, comfort, and pricing.
Pros
  • Great audio quality
  • Voice detection
  • Comfortable fit
Cons
  • Battery life could be better

laptopmag[4]

Reviewers from laptopmag have found:
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro are the active noise cancelling earbuds Samsung aficionados have been waiting for. At $199, they are $50 cheaper than the $249 AirPods Pro and $81 less than the Bose QuietComfort 35. The buds use Bluetooth 5.0 which allows you to connect to multiple devices. The ANC is powerful enough to actually put a damper on the world.
Pros
  • Sleek, water-resistant design
  • Powerful active noise cancelling
  • Comfortable fit
Cons
  • Not as loud as the competition

nextpit[5]

Reviewers from nextpit have found:
-pairing function is available exclusively only on devices that fall under Samsung's own ecosystem. Samsung has even skimped on codecs, preferring to rely on its own Scalable audio codec instead of integrating the widely used AptX. The easy user experience that marketing agencies and manufacturers love to rave about, I would rather describe as fidgety with the Galaxy Buds Pro.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Easy to use
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No multi-pairing
  • No IPX7 certification

pcmag[6]

Reviewer score 69%
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Galaxy Buds Pro use a pair of drivers in each earpiece, combining a 6.5mm tweeter with a 11mm woofer for strong treble and bass performance. The ANC circuitry is effective at blocking out lower-frequency noises like the rumble of trains, and some very consistent sounds. There's a slightly bass-heavy, sculpted sound by default, which comes through in Yes' “Roundabout”
Pros
  • Sculpted, sculpted sound
  • Solid battery life
  • Comfortable, flip-open case
Cons
  • No wireless charging

rtings[7]

Reviewer score 38%
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro are satisfactory for neutral sound. They have an excited, V-shaped sound profile, which delivers extra thump and boom. They also have consistent bass and treble delivery and a comfortable fit. However, their ANC struggles to cut down bass-range noise like bus or plane engine rumbles.
Pros
  • Well-built design
  • Comfortable fit
  • Low leakage
  • Good noise isolation
Cons
  • Short continuous battery life
  • No volume controls by default

techradar[8]

Reviewer score 58%
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro have balanced sound quality that doesn't skew too sibilant in the trebles or too bloated in the bass. They are missing some clarity in the mids and highs, and have a smaller, isolated soundstage. Samsung promises five hours of listening pleasure on one cycle, after which the charging case can provide an additional 13 hours if you have ANC turned on.
Pros
  • Good battery life
  • Auto Switch feature
Cons
  • No built-in microphone
  • No wireless charging

theverge[9]

Reviewer score 81%
Reviewers from theverge have found:
The Galaxy Buds Pro still have hands-free “Hey Bixby” capabilities. 3D audio only works on Samsung hardware, so if your Android phone is from a different brand, you lose out on it altogether. Samsung isn't extending the same level of iOS support for the Buds Plus and Buds Live.
Pros
  • Great sound quality
  • Great battery life
  • Dolby surround sound
Cons
  • No multi-device pairing
  • Automatic switching only works on Samsung devices

tomsguide[10]

Reviewer score 69%
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
Samsung rates battery life at 5 hours with ANC on, which is about 4 to 4.5 hours when taking high volume, streaming, and listening modes into account. The latest software update adds two performance enhancements, including improved Bixby voice wake-up response and left/right sound balance adjustment. The exceptional connectivity these buds provide cancels out the subpar call quality.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • No multi-device pairing
  • No multipoint technology

trustedreviews[11]

Reviewer score 76%
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
The Galaxy Buds Pro are the best true wireless earbuds Samsung has made. They feature a two-way speaker setup that combines an 11mm woofer and 6.5mm tweeter. The buds come with three mics and a Voice Pickup Unit (VPU) designed to eliminate background noise. Call quality and voice recognition were solid, thanks to the ear buds’ clever mic arrangement. ANC performance is equally good – but not best in class.
Pros
  • Powerful ANC
  • Excellent call quality
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No aptX-HD support
  • No wireless charging

whathifi[12]

Reviewer score 41%
Reviewers from whathifi have found:
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro have a 6.5mm tweeter and 11mm mid/bass driver. Each earbud also features three mics, taking care of active noise-cancellation, call quality and voice control. An IPX7 rating is very good news, both for the more active among us and those who find they need to run their earbuds under the cold tap.
Pros
  • Decent noise-cancellation
  • Decent battery life
Cons
  • Inoffensive sound

wired[13]

Reviewer score 92%
Reviewers from wired have found:
At $200, these headphones undercut the similarly appointed AirPods Pro by a few tens of dollars. Samsung has implemented a quick-pairing feature that works nearly identically to Apple's iOS-exclusive pairing feature. The included USB-C port is the fastest way to charge the buds; plugging in gives them an hour of playtime in just five minutes.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Excellent audio quality
  • Dual driver array
Cons
  • Noise canceling isn’t as effective as AirPods Pro
