digitaltrends[1]

Reviewer score 68% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The G5 is a PC that's not made for gaming enthusiasts. The desktop class graphics here outperforms the mid-3,000 points achieved on Dell's G5 gaming laptop equipped with mobile GTX 1650 graphics. On less graphics-intensive titles, like Civilization VI and Fortnite, the G5 was able to perform at above 90-95 FPS on average in 1440p resolutions.
Pros
  • Sleek, compact design
  • Comfortable keyboard
  • Solid gaming performance
Cons
  • Limited configuration options
  • Limited software upgrades

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Dell G5 Gaming Desktop is a nice little package all around. It offers solid value in a space-saving design, looks pretty good for price, and is highly configurable. If you're a semi-serious gamer, or you're shopping for a desktop for your kids to play the most popular games with no fuss, this is a great pick.
Pros
  • Sleek, attractive design
  • Solid gaming performance
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No Thunderbolt 3 port

tomsguide[3]

Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
Upgrading the Dell G5 5090 was admirably straightforward in our testing. The computer also has an internal Qualcomm DW1810 chip for 802.11ac wireless and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. While I wouldn't trust the system with 4K, or even QHD, resolutions, it provided a solid gaming experience.
Pros
  • Excellent gaming performance
  • Solid build quality
  • Easy to upgrade
Cons
  • No 4K resolution

tomshardware[4]

Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
The Dell G5 Gaming Desktop is a compact rig that can play most games at an affordable price. Dell includes a keyboard and mouse in the box, but they're definitely not gaming-grade. If you want a true gaming keyboard or gaming mouse, you'll have to source one on your own.
Pros
  • Compact design
  • Lots of ports
  • Easy to upgrade
Cons
  • Some bloatware
  • Not gaming-grade

trustedreviews[5]

Reviewer score 46% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
For the price, the Dell G5 Gaming Desktop is a capable and affordable system. The GTX 1660 Ti is enough to play any single-player title in Full HD and at a smooth frame rate. The underwhelming CPU still manages to be fast enough to avoid gaming bottlenecks, and there’s enough power here to handle web-browsing and Office applications. Connectivity is underwhelming and the basic motherboard is too basic.
Pros
  • Decent 1080p gaming performance
  • Good thermal performance
Cons
  • Underwhelming CPU
  • No dedicated ray tracing
