External Reviews
techradar[1]
Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)The LG SN8YG is a two-piece system: there's just the bar and the sub. You can add on surround speakers with the 2.0 Channel Rear Speaker Kit. The soundbar still has a fairly wide soundstage that allows you to sit anywhere in the room and still get good stereo sound.
Pros
- Wide soundstage
- Dolby Atmos support
- Bluetooth and Chromecast support
Cons
- Lacks stereo sound
tomsguide[2]
Reviewer score 65% (normalized by Neofiliac)The SN8YG has a big sound and booming bass. But because it lacks virtual surround sound, the experience is more narrow. It also buries voices in the mix a bit, resulting in muffled dialog and vocals. With Google Assistant included, it has the most features you want in a soundbar.
Pros
- Sleek design
- Supports Atmos and Dolby Atmos
Cons
- Lacks surround sound
