Product Overview
LG SN5Y is an entry-level 2.1-channel soundbar with a small wireless subwoofer. In its compact body, the SN5Y packs two channels and four drivers; it supports Dolby Digital Surround and DTS Virtual:X digital processing.
Unlike premium soundbars in LG's lineup, the SN5Y lacks Meridian Audio speakers and Google Assistant built-in. Nevertheless, it packs 400W of peak power and, unlike entry-level options from the competition, still offers HDMI and USB connectivity, though WiFi support is dropped.
The SN5Y can be paired to LG's SPK8-S wireless rear speakers to create an improved listening experience.
Other soundbars unveiled at the same time include the 3.1-channel SN6Y, 3.1.2-channel SN8YG and SN7Y, 5.1.2-channel SN9YG and SN10YG, and 7.1.4-channel SN11YG.
