Product Overview

ASUS ROG Zephyrus M15 GU502 is a 15.6-inch ultra-portable gaming laptop that also caters to content creators. It is available with up to RTX 2070 graphics and Core i7-10875H CPU.
The Zephyrus M15 GU502 shares the its chassis with the Zephyrus S15, except for dropping the expanding vent. It adds Thunderbolt 3 connectivity and ESS Sabre DAC while doing away with the RTX 2080 SUPER graphics: all these changes make it more attune for professional use.
For serious gaming, ASUS offers the ROG Strix SCAR 15 and SCAR 17. The ROG Zephyrus S15 and S17 are ultra-portable versions of the SCAR-series with minimal compromise, while the ROG Strix G15 and G17 are tuned-down versions of the SCAR-series. The flagship this year is the Zephyrus Duo 15 that comes with dual 4K displays.
ASUS also markets AMD-powered Zephyrus G14 and G15 for those that prefer the red team.

External Reviews

notebookcheck[1]

Reviewer score 63% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
With Turbo Boost, the clock speed can be increased to 4.3 GHz on six cores and up to 5 GHz on a single core. Gaming, video editing and image processing do not pose any major challenges for the device. The system does not appear to be suitable for real-time video and audio editing.
Pros
  • Matte IPS display
  • Full HD resolution
  • NVMe SSD
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No Thunderbolt 3

pcmag[2]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Asus Zephyrus M15 is a very appealing laptop with few weak points. It's not the most affordable rig, but many more expensive machines have crossed our testing benches. Compared to the others, its RTX 2070 (Max-Q) GPU isn't dominant.
Pros
  • High-quality aluminum build
  • Solid gaming performance
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Weak webcam
  • No Thunderbolt 3 port

techradar[3]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The Asus ROG Zephyrus M15 GU502 is an affordable gaming laptop. It has a 1080p display with a 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. This is ideal for gamers who want to play fast-paced games. The trackpad beneath the keyboard isn't huge, but is big enough to use comfortably, and does the job well enough.
Pros
  • Extremely thin and light
  • Excellent gaming performance
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • No external mouse

tomshardware[4]

Reviewer score 68% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
The ROG Zephyrus M15 is the hottest laptop we've tested since MSI's GS66 Stealth. It's even hotter than that laptop up top on the keyboard. At the very least, you'll want to game with the M15 on a desk or table rather than your lap. The $1,579 model with the GTX 2070 is definitely worth paying the extra $279.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Strong performance
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No webcam
  • No fingerprint reader
