Product Overview
JBL Quantum 400 is a wired, over-ear gaming headset with a flip-up microphone. Part of JBL's new gaming range, the Quantum 400 can be powered by either 3.5mm audio cable or USB.
Compared to lower-end models, the Quantum 400 internalizes the USB adapter that comes with the Quantum 300. Via USB, the Quantum 400 supports JBL QuantumSURROUND. Like the Quantum 300, it comes with flip-up mute function.
Other models in JBL's Quantum series include the basic Quantum 100, Quantum 200 that adds a PC splitter, Quantum 600, which supports 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, Quantum 800, which further supports Bluetooth 5.0 and adds active noise cancellation, and the flagship, Quantum One, which uniquely features surround sound with Head Tracking.

Reviewer score 27% (normalized by Neofiliac)The JBL Quantum 400 aren't very portable due to their bulky design, non-detachable microphone, and total absence of a carrying case. They don't block out ambient noise very effectively, especially in the lower bass range, which includes sounds like bus and plane engines. Thankfully, they have a very good microphone that's well suited for speaking to teammates, even in loud environments.
Pros
- Very good microphone
- Good overall performance
- Decently comfortable
Cons
- Bass-heavy sound profile
- No on-board call controls
