DALI OPTICON 1 MK2 is the smaller of two bookshelf loudspeakers in the mid-level OPTICON MK2 series, which replaces the successful OPTICON series. It loses the ribbon hybrid tweeter setup in the floorstanders in the series and is rather compact in size.
The OPTICON 1 MK2 features a 29mm soft dome and a wood fiber woofer that uses DALI's patented SMC technology. The SMC technology in the woofer's magnet reduces non-linear magnetic distortion. Combined with wide-dispersion wood fiber discs, it gives these affordable loudspeakers more control over the lower frequencies.
Other models in the OPTICON MK2 series include a smaller bookshelf speaker, OPTICON 1 MK2, two floorstanders, OPTICON 6 MK2 and OPTICON 8 MK2, one center channel, OPTICON VOKAL MK2, and a wall-mount speaker, OPTICON LCR MK2.
