DALI OPTICON 2 MK2 is the larger of two bookshelf loudspeakers in the mid-level OPTICON MK2 series, which replaces the successful OPTICON series. It loses the ribbon hybrid tweeter setup in the floorstanders in the series.
The OPTICON 2 MK2 features a 29mm soft dome and a wood fiber woofer that uses DALI's patented SMC technology. The SMC technology in the woofer's magnet reduces non-linear magnetic distortion. Combined with wide-dispersion wood fiber discs, it gives these affordable loudspeakers more control over the lower frequencies.
Other models in the OPTICON MK2 series include a smaller bookshelf speaker, OPTICON 1 MK2, two floorstanders, OPTICON 6 MK2 and OPTICON 8 MK2, one center channel, OPTICON VOKAL MK2, and a wall-mount speaker, OPTICON LCR MK2.
