Product Overview

DALI OBERON 1 C is an entry-level wireless bookshelf loudspeaker in the OBERON C series, which extends the success of the concept debuted with the CALLISTO C series to more price-sensitive consumers.
The OBERON C series shares designs and features with the corresponding OBERON series. For example, the SMC technology found in the woofer's magnet reduces non-linear magnetic distortion. Combined with wide-dispersion wood fiber discs, it gives these affordable loudspeakers more control over the lower frequencies. The new, oversized soft tweeters further deliver a more musical reproduction that is rarely found in entry-level speakers.
The OBERON C series uses the same wireless technology found in the higher-end CALLISTO C and RUBICON C series, though lesser DACs and lower-powered amplifiers are used. They can stream music from DALI Sound Hub or the newly-unveiled Sound Hub Compact.
The two other speakers in the OBERON C series include the floorstanding OBERON 7 C and the wall-mount OBERON ON-WALL C.

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from whathifi have found:
The speakers are largely unchanged from the passive Oberon 1. There are still four finish options - black ash, matte white, dark walnut and light oak. The biggest aesthetic statement here is provided by the mahogany coloured 13cm wood fibre mid/bass cone. Each unit is fed by a dedicated 50W Class D amplifier.
Pros
  • Open and precise soundstage
  • Solid build quality
  • Wireless active operation
Cons
  • No bass depth or depth
