cnet[1]
Reviewer score 61% (normalized by Neofiliac)The 15.6-inch Pavilion Gaming laptop is an affordable, somewhat no-frills PC. The performance on the one I tested was great for games new and old. The base display is OK for general use, but its color seemed muted and it didn't get especially bright.
Pros
- Great performance for gaming and content creation
- Decent battery life
Cons
- Mediocre display
- No macro keys or macro keys
notebookcheck[2]
Reviewer score 55% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Pavilion is powered by a Ryzen 5 4600H (Renoir) APU. The built-in hardware ensures a fast and smooth system. The dedicated graphics core enables the use of computer games. The system drive is a 512 GB NVMe SSD (M.2 2280) from Kioxia/Toshiba.
Pros
- Matte IPS display
- Full HD resolution
- NVMe SSD
- Good battery life
Cons
- No SD card reader
- No Thunderbolt 3
pcmag[3]
Reviewer score 58% (normalized by Neofiliac)The HP Pavilion Gaming 15 is a respectable contender in the ultra-competitive gaming arena. It's a handsome and reasonably fast system likely to satisfy a good number of retail buyers. It doesn't have the chops for an Editors' Choice, but it's a worthy runner-up.
Pros
- High-quality 1080p display
- Good battery life
Cons
- Lackluster graphics performance
- No Thunderbolt 3 port
