Panasonic HX800
4K TVProduct Gallery
Product Overview
HX800 is a feature-rich 4K smart TV in Panasonic's 2020 lineup. Powered by an HCX Processor, it supports a broad range of audio and image processing protocols, including Dolby Vision, HLG Photo, and Dolby Atmos.
The HX800 also comes with local dimming backlighting, which improves contrast. The panel also covers a richer gamut than the lower-end options such as the HX600 and HX580.
Panasonic also markets the HX940, which has an even better processor and a faster refresh rate.

t3[1]
Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)The TX-58HX800 is Panasonic's latest 55-inch LED TV. It uses Panasonic's My Home Screen platform, now up to v5.0. It supports Netflix, YouTube and Brit Box, but no Disney+ as of yet. Images are capable of blistering detail, without looking over-emphasised or forced.
Pros
- Gorgeous OLED screen
- Excellent picture quality
- Dolby Atmos support
Cons
- No Disney+
- No Dolby Vision
trustedreviews[2]
Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)Panasonic HX800 is a mid-range 4K LED LCD TV. Freeview Play tuner comes with all the main TV catch-up services built-in. Most of the key streaming giants are on-board, including Netflix, Prime Video, Rakuten, YouTube and Britbox. Only obvious heavy hitter not at the table is Disney+.
Pros
- Excellent gaming performance
- Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support
Cons
- Edge-lit LED isn’t for everyone
whathifi[3]
Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)There is an excellent amount of detail and it never looks false, noisy or over-sharpened. This Dolby Atmos-enabled TV is fitted with a pair of standard 10W speakers. The most obvious negative is that there isn't much weight to the sound. The only real sacrifice is that the mid-range is fairly unexciting.
Pros
- Excellent picture quality
- Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision
- Excellent motion handling
Cons
- Mid-range is unexciting
