Product Overview

G7 17 7700 is the flagship of Dell's 2020 G-series gaming laptop lineup. A step below the Alienware m17 R3, the G7 17 7700 shares much of the design elements and feature set with the G7 15 7500.
Like the G7 15 7500, the G7 17 7700 comes in an aluminum chassis that makes it more compact than the lower-end models. Its 17.3-inch display can be configured for 144Hz or 300Hz. The G7 17 7700 features 12-zone chassis RGB lighting as well as 4-zone keyboard RGB backlighting.
For a more affordable option, Dell also markets the G5 15 5500 gaming laptop.

Reviewer score 58% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
Dell has equipped the G7 17 with the same Killer 1550 WLAN module as on the higher-end XPS and Alienware systems. We find the keyboard keys to be surprisingly firm relative to their low-moderate clatter. Quad-zone RGB lighting comes standard in contrast to the single-zone lighting of the Dell G3 17 or per-key RGB lighting of most newer Alienware machines.
Pros
  • Stable CPU and GPU performance
  • Full-size Arrow keys and NumPad keys
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Dim display
  • No dedicated subwoofer
