notebookcheck[1]
Reviewer score 58% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Dell G5 15 5500 performs as expected for a laptop of its class when it comes to gaming. As a non-RTX card, ray tracing and DLSS are out of scope for the GTX 1650 Ti. While gaming, only the right palmrest tends to get somewhat warmer than usual while the left palmrest and trackpad area remain cooler than skin temperature.
Pros
- Bright 120 Hz display
- Good battery life
- Decent CPU performance
Cons
- Mediocre GPU performance
- No Thunderbolt 3
t3[2]
Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)Dell G5 5500 has an Intel Core i7-10750H processor, a current favourite in gaming laptops for its generous speed and decent turbo boosting capabilities. The screen is one of the most critical components of a gaming laptop given that it's typically going to be exploited to its fullest. It's a 144Hz FHD screen using what Dell calls 'WVA', or Wide Viewing Angle. Its scores in 3DMark just about match those of the Acer Nitro 5.
Pros
- Sleek design
- Solid gaming performance
- Decent battery life
Cons
- Screen isn’t the best
- No Thunderbolt 3
