LG TONE Free HBS-FN7
True Wireless EarbudsProduct Gallery
Product Overview
The TONE Free HBS-FN7 is the flagship of LG's TONE Free true wireless earphones lineup. It retains all the features of the HBS-FN6 and adds active noise cancellation (ANC) for a great listening experience in a broader set of environments.
The FN7 builds on the excellent passive noise isolation of the FN6 by actively monitoring and cancelling ambient noise using three microphones in each earbud: Adjust ear gels with patented twist-fit Vortex Ribs deliver a tighter in-ear seal to minimize noise seepage. ANC further neutralizes environmental noises.
Like other LG TONE Free earbuds, the HBS-FN7 features audio processing by Meridian Audio. It recreates a broad soundstage while delivering clear and precise vocals.
The self-sanitizing charging case featured in the FN6 is carried over. Using ultraviolet light, the case eliminates 99.9% of E. coli and S. aureus bacteria on the earbuds' inner mesh. New for the FN7 is the LED status light that makes it easy to monitor charging level and UVnano status.

They block out low-frequency rumble like you might hear on a plane or train quite well. Battery life is estimated to be roughly five hours with ANC on or seven hours with it off. The dual-mic array offers average intelligibility.
Pros
- Solid noise cancellation
- Easy-to-use controls
- Decent battery life
Cons
- Bass-heavy sound signature
- No wireless charging

Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)Water and sweat-resistant with an IPX4 rating, they can withstand a few splashes but won't survive being fully submerged in water. Each earbud has three microphones to help reduce noise and cancel out any echo. UVnano technology in the charging case which kills 99.9% of bacteria on the earbuds is one of the big wins for these earphones.
Pros
- Great sound quality
- UVnano technology
- Great battery life
Cons
- Touch controls are sensitive
- Touch controls can be sensitive

Reviewer score 57% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Tone Free FN7 is a quality option…when on sale. The improved controls are a highlight, along with the handsome tiny charging case. Battery life is rated at 5 hours with ANC on. Clarity was better on video chats, but volume was still lower than I would have liked.
Pros
- Sleek design
- Easy to use controls
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- Mediocre noise cancellation
- No UV-cancelling
trustedreviews[4]
Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)LG FN7 earbuds have active noise cancellation. ANC feels more complementary to the sound rather than an effective feature on its own. IPX4 rating ensures that the FN7 can handle sweat and a moderate amount of rain. Each earbud can hold up to three distinct operations for total of six inputs to change the volume, playback, track skipping, as well as activation of any voice assistants.
Pros
- Great sound quality
- Great battery life
Cons
- Noise cancellation isn’t as effective as on the FN6
whathifi[5]
Reviewer score 65% (normalized by Neofiliac)The LG HBS-FN7 earbuds are well made and are pleasant to control. Bass sounds are textured and carefully hefty, with more than enough detail available to make the difference between actual instruments and machine-derived sounds obvious. Without a rhythm to get tripped up by, the LGs are a confident and poised listen. But their lack of rhythmic ability and ordinary noise-cancelling rather mean there are more compelling options around.
Pros
- Impressive noise-cancellation
- Decent battery life
Cons
- Not the most dynamic
