cameralabs[1]
Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Sony A7C is a mid-range full-frame mirrorless camera with 24 Megapixels, 4k video up to 30p, built-in stabilisation, rangefinder styling and a fully-articulated touchscreen. Announced in September 2020 and aimed at upgraders from APSC bodies, vloggers or simply those wanting a second full- frame body, it represents a new design in the A7 series.
Pros
- 24 Megapixels, 4k video up to 30p, built-in stabilisation, 10fps bursts, fully-articulated touchscreen
- Full-frame sensor
- Automatic autofocus
Cons
- Only one USB port (Type-C)
- Only one SD card slot (UHS-II)

Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)Sony opted to again use the NP-FZ100 battery pack in the a7C. The battery can be charged in-camera via the USB port and a USB wall adapter with a 2' (.6m) USB cable is provided. The camera has an extremely deep feature set and I can't cover everything it can do in a reasonably-concise review.
Pros
- Compact size and light weight
- Excellent image quality for its size and weight
- Large EVF
Cons
- Battery door is spring-loaded
- Battery charger is not included
pcmag[3]
Reviewer score 64% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Sony a7C is an appealing option for vloggers and other video-first creators. Its video toolkit matches the a7 III, with 4K UHD recording at 24 or 30fps, 1080p at 120fps for slow-motion playback. The IBIS system does a good job keeping footage steady for the most part.
Pros
- Slim, lightweight design
- 5-axis IBIS system
- 4K UHD video
- Built-in touch controls
Cons
- No manual focus
- No telephoto zoom

Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Sony a7C is great for travel photography. It's fairly lightweight and portable, especially considering it has a full-frame sensor. t3[5]
Reviewer score 65% (normalized by Neofiliac)The A7C features Sony's best autofocusing technologies. There's 693 phase AF points and 425 contrast AF points, designed for super-quick focusing. Real-Time Eye AF can be used on both humans and animals, making it an excellent option as a family camera for capturing special moments. Images are warm and vibrant, with a good degree of detail. The 28-60mm kit lens is far from being Sony's sharpest and best-performing lens.
Pros
- Super-fast autofocus
- Good image quality
- 4K video recording
Cons
- Slightly cramped viewfinder
- Not the sharpest lens
tomsguide[6]
Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)The A7C's 24MP sensor performed very well, producing images with wide dynamic range and sharp, crisp details. It's also pretty fast: I liked that it could capture 10 frames per second in burst mode, using either the shutter or in silent mode. The one newly developed feature I didn't like as much as the older versions was the compact eye-level viewfinder.
Pros
- Very good autofocus
- Excellent battery life
- Excellent image quality
Cons
- Nothing in particular
trustedreviews[7]
Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Sony A7C has a tiny OLED viewfinder, especially when compared to the large units used on most A7-series models. Given the size of the camera, I think it’s a trade-off most buyers will be happy to live with. In practice, I found its small size to be a problem only once or twice on very sunny days, when some light leakage made the OLED display a little indistinct.
Pros
- Full-frame sensor
- Excellent image stabilisation
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- Limited touch controls
- No 4K video at 60fps
