External Reviews
androidauthority[1]
Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac) Huawei claims up to 40dB of noise reduction, though it's not clear which frequencies are covered by this claim. For the first time on Huawei true wireless earbuds, you can control volume through touch gestures. The FreeBuds Pro are an easy recommendation for Huawei phone users primarily, but not just for them.
Pros
- Good sound quality
- Good battery life
- Good noise cancelling
Cons
- Noise cancelling isn’t perfect
nextpit[2]
Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Huawei FreeBuds Pro are an absolute highlight when it comes to the True Wireless Sound earbuds market. Wearer recognition also works well. The drivers transport the soul of the song, injecting the essence directly into the marrow. The software does not do much to filter out external noise, and will discourage those who spend plenty of time on their hands.
Pros
- Excellent sound quality
- Good battery life
Cons
- Poor noise suppression
- No companion app

Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)Pinch and slide gestures work well, and are better than tap gestures. You don't have to pinch hard at all, and like the AirPods Pro, there's a ‘fake' click sound that tells you the pressure has been registered. The 2W wireless charging feature is nice to have, but I struggled to get the case to charge using the three chargers I had available. You need a flat charger, but even with the one I have, the case has to be in precisely the right position before the charging light will come on.
Pros
- Excellent noise cancelling
- Good battery life
- Good sound quality
Cons
- Noise cancelling isn’t great
- Noise cancellation is a little muted
techradar[4]
Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)The FreeBuds Pro pack large 11mm ultra-magnetic dynamic drivers and the sound quality impresses on first listen. With noise-canceling fired all the way up, music can sound a bit manufactured – bass is boosted and trebles cap out a tad sharper than the best out there. While Huawei beats out more affordable competition from OnePlus and OPPO hands-down, you can get better sound for less if you shop around.
Pros
- Excellent noise-cancelling
- Good battery life
- Good sound quality
Cons
- Noise cancelling isn’t great
- Limited app support

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)The FreeBuds Pro look really good, with a far more angular stem than the usual rounded off style. There’s no pairing button, however the buds enter pairing mode when you flip the case open. The stem of the earbud is where the controls sit, at least in their capacitive form. These can be fiddly as the area to hit but the interface offers plenty of functionality. After a few listens I would say they sound as good as AirPods Pro.
Pros
- Very good ANC
- Good battery life
- Great mic system
Cons
- No pairing button
whathifi[6]
Reviewer score 62% (normalized by Neofiliac)Huawei FreeBuds Pros are wireless earbuds with built-in noise-cancelling. Two Bluetooth antennas in each earbud help provide a more stable connection. Battery life is 4.5 hours with ANC or seven hours without, which is competitive when pitched against the AirPods Pros and Sony WF-1000XM3s. However, the Huaweis lag behind in a few key areas.
Pros
- Lightweight and comfortable
- Good noise-cancelling
- Good battery life
Cons
- Dynamically stunted
