Product Overview

The Yoga 9i 14" is an ultra-slim, flagship-level 2-in-1 laptop from Lenovo's Yoga sub-brand. This 14-inch convertible features 11th-gen Intel Core processors and measures just over 0.6-inch / 15mm thin.
For the first time, Lenovo has an optional authentic leather-bonded cover, while the chassis in all variants remain aerospace-grade aluminium. The leather-covered model comes in a Shadow Black casing with glass palm rest.
To provide an even better multi-media experience, the Yoga 9i features a quad-speaker, Dolby Atmos Speaker System setup in the hinge-based Rotating Sound Bar.
Lenovo also markets a 15.6-inch variant of the Yoga 9i. In this generation, there are Yoga 7i models in 14-inch and 15.6-inch sizes as well.

Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The Yoga 9i 14 has 60 watt-hours of battery capacity, which isn't a lot for a 14-inch laptop. A fingerprint reader located on the top right of the palm rest provides for Windows 10 Hello password-less login support. Its one weakness is the 16:9 display, which is suddenly old school compared to the newest machines being released today.
Pros
  • Solid productivity performance
  • Comfortable keyboard
  • Solid build quality
Cons
  • 16:9 display is old school
  • Short battery life

Reviewers from laptopmag have found:
The Yoga 9i is an excellent 2-in-1 laptop for those who need power in a portable package. It outpaces most of its competitors, it's among the thinnest in its class, and 11+ hours of battery life means you can use it for a full day. The extra space afforded by the slight camera notch allows enough room for a decent 720p webcam.
Pros
  • Best-in-class performance
  • Sleek design
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • No IR camera

Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
The Y9i 4K passes the Fire Strike stress test with 99%. The fan volume also depends on the selected cooling mode (Vantage software) The "soundbar" (two stereo speakers) built into the hinge is superior to conventional solutions in combination with the two subwoofers, especially in view of the small form factor.
Pros
  • High-quality aluminum case
  • High-contrast 4K display
  • Long battery life
  • Good keyboard backlight
Cons
  • Mediocre CPU performance
  • No Thunderbolt 3

pcmag[4]

Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
Unlike many 2-in-1 convertibles, the Yoga 9i has no volume rocker for use in tablet mode. Wireless connectivity is covered by an Intel AX201 card supporting Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5. Lenovo's sole biometric feature is a fingerprint reader to the right of its touchpad. The 720p webcam lacks IR technology for facial recognition.
Pros
  • Sleek metal design
  • Excellent battery life
  • Bright, vivid 4K display
Cons
  • No volume rocker
  • No fingerprint reader

techradar[5]

Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
There are only three ports and a 3.5mm headphone/microphone combo jack. Two of those ports are USB Type-Cs with Thunderbolt 4 support which also features charging. There's no HDMI output, so you'll have to rely on one of the Thunderbolt ports to output to an external display but it does feature DisplayPort 1.4 support. The Active Pen charges in the dock, getting 40 minutes of use off 15 minutes of charge.
Pros
  • Gorgeous 16:10 FHD+ display
  • Excellent battery life
  • Excellent performance
Cons
  • No Thunderbolt 4

Reviewers from theverge have found:
The Yoga 9i is an excellent 2-in-1 with standout audio. Performance was as satisfactory as we'd expect from the top-notch 1185G7 processor. The webcam is a bit grainy but serviceable; it has a physical privacy shutter. My one disappointment here is bloatware.
Pros
  • Gorgeous design
  • Stunning audio
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No stylus included
  • No Thunderbolt 4 or Wi-Fi 6

tomsguide[7]

Reviewer score 90% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
The Yoga 9i comes packed with the Iris Xe Graphics, which won't give you the greatest frame rate when playing intensive games. Lenovo really likes to bless us with little to no bloatware on their laptops, and I am loving it. The webcam is not an IR webcam, so it doesn't support Windows Hello for unlocking.
Pros
  • Gorgeous 2-in-1 display
  • Bright, colorful display
  • Long battery life
Cons
  • No IR webcam
  • No Thunderbolt 3

trustedreviews[8]

Reviewer score 68% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
4K resolution, IPS technology, and touch hardware mean the Yoga’s 14-inch screen is crisp and versatile. The Core i7 chip is reasonable, but if you’re willing to compromise on form factor and features, more power is available. The screen is great for media viewing and for work tasks where you need brightness and vivacity rather than accuracy. However, its haptic touchpad is poor, Intel's components are undermined by better silicon available elsewhere, and there are niggling irritations.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Solid 4K display
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Poor touchpad
  • Mediocre speakers
