Product Overview

Sennheiser MKE 200 is a compact microphone designed for DSLR or mirrorless cameras and smartphones. A condenser microphone, the MKE 200 works without batteries.
At its heart, the MKE 200 has a directional capsule that helps you keep your voice clear when talking to the camera. The capsule is shock-mounted inside the casing to reduce handling noise. The included furry windshield protects the microphone from wind noises, too.
Besides the windshield, a locking 3.5mm TRS cable for DSLR or mirrorless cameras, a locking 3.5mm TRRS cable for smartphones, and a soft pouch are included.
In April 2021, Sennheiser further introduced the MKE 200 Mobile Kit that includes a Manfrotto PIXI Mini tripod and a Sennheiser smartphone clamp. It is introduced next to the MKE 400 Mobile Kit as well as a number of other mobile kits.

digitaltrends[1]

Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The MKE 200 is an excellent mic for vloggers and videographers that find learning audio daunting. The plug-and-shoot design means there are no settings to mess with or even batteries to charge. The plastic construction is unsurprising for a budget accessory, but it doesn't feel like it will break easily with typical use.
Pros
  • Simple to set up
  • Easy to use
  • Good audio quality
Cons
  • Bulky design
  • No controls

pcmag[2]

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Sennheiser MKE 200 delivers a crisp, clear signal for mobile devices and cameras. The mic's overall signal is crisp and clear, but you'll want to experiment with distance from the camera/mic setup. The $100 mic is easy to use for those without much audio experience, even in noisy environments.
Pros
  • Easy-to-use app
  • Clear, crisp audio signal
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • No onboard gain knob
