Product Overview

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 is the company's second-generation flagship foldable smartphone. Packed with all the refinements and innovations that Samsung has to offer, the Galaxy Z Fold2 features a larger Cover Screen and massive Main Screen.
The 6.2-inch Infinity-O Cover Screen provides flagship-level usability without unfolding the device. Unfolded, the massive 7.6-inch Main Screen with minimal bezels and notch-less Front Camera and 120Hz refresh rate offers tablet-like experience. It sports the Samsung Ultra Thin Glass, which offers a premium and refined feel.
The Hideaway Hinge fits seamlessly into the device body with the CAM mechanism and enables free standing capabilities. Galaxy Z Fold2 also employs sweeper technology, first introduced on the Galaxy Z Flip, within the gap between the body and hinge housing to repel dust and undesirable particles.

androidauthority[1]

Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from androidauthority have found:
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is an outstanding piece of hardware that also gets the software experience just right. Samsung made all the needed changes to its premiere folding phone and solidified the idea that a phone can also be a tablet. Samsung is offering those who preorder the phone a $150 discount on accessories, which is enough to pick up the headphones.
Pros
  • Slim, lightweight design
  • Excellent stereo speakers
  • Improved Cover Display
Cons
  • No headphone jack
  • No microSD card slot

digitaltrends[2]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The Z Fold 2 takes punchy, colorful, and eye-pleasing photos. The zoom camera is a bit of a letdown, as it's a smaller sensor. You can easily tell that zoom shots are softer than the main camera, even at just 2X. The downsides are usability, size, and price.
Pros
  • Gorgeous foldable display
  • Foldable design
  • Excellent camera
Cons
  • Expensive for a high-end phone

laptopmag[3]

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from laptopmag have found:
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is running Android 11 with OneUI 3.1, the Android skin from Samsung. All three sensors on the back are 12MP with a wide-angle, ultra-wide and a telephoto with 2x optical zoom. Flex Mode is roughly on a par with multitasking in terms of utility and that you can't achieve something similar on a traditional phone.
Pros
  • Unique design
  • Flex Mode is great for multitasking
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No support for vertical black bars

nextpit[4]

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from nextpit have found:
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a 4,500 mAh battery. Battery life is not the best on the market, but it is also not the worst. By day, shots taken with the main module are pretty good. At night, the main 12 MP sensor does pretty badly on its own, but the night mode does make for a decent compensation.
Pros
  • Foldable screen
  • Good battery life
  • Decent camera module
Cons
  • Only 4,500 mAh
  • Battery life could be better

pcmag[5]

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The real tricks here are in software, where the Z Fold 2 does things that no other phone can do. The phone has all of the currently used US LTE and 5G bands, including millimeter-wave. Video calls are best on the big screen, and flipping the phone open lets you use the loud dual speakers as a speakerphone.
Pros
  • Foldable design
  • Excellent battery life
  • Flexible screen
Cons
  • No wireless charging
  • No microSD card slot

techradar[6]

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The Exynos 990, found in the Note 20 series, outside of the US, showed weaker performance and battery life than Qualcomm's chip. 5G speeds are going to vary by region and carrier, according to our tests in New York City. 256GB is limited given the fact that a) you're paying such a high price and b) there's no microSD card slot in the SIM card tray, so you can't expand the storage beyond 256GB.
Pros
  • Super-fast 5G
  • Fantastic design
  • Great cameras
Cons
  • No microSD card slot
  • No wireless charging

theverge[7]

Reviewer score 65% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from theverge have found:
There's nothing especially wrong with any of the Z Fold 2's five cameras — but there's not a big standout, either. Samsung is still overzealous with brightening things up and with smoothing faces. Android isn't doing Samsung any favors when it comes to making everything work on a tablet-sized screen.
Pros
  • S Pen stylus is a nice addition
  • Foldable screen is great for videoconferencing
  • Great battery life
Cons
  • No water resistance
  • No headphone jack

tomsguide[8]

Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 packs a 4,500 mAh battery, which should be able to get you through most of the day. On our battery test, which involves continuous web surfing at 150 nits of screen brightness, the phone lasted 10 hours and 10 minutes on the 60Hz display setting. The iPhone 11 Pro Max does a better job rendering the hay but overall I give the edge to Samsung here.
Pros
  • Flexible display
  • Fast charging
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No wireless charging
  • No under-display camera
