SoundbarProduct Gallery
Product Overview
HW-Q950T is the flagship in Samsung's soundbar lineup, occupying the top spot in the company's premium Q-series. The HW-Q950T sports 20 drivers in a 9.1.4-channel setup and supports the most complete set of digital audio processing features in any Samsung soundbar.
Chief among these are Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. When paired with Samsung's 2020 QLED TVs, Q-symphony activates and plays surround sound from both the TV and the soundbar, further improving the listening experience.
Another model that debuted with the HW-Q950T is the 7.1.2-channel HW-Q900T, which drops the rear speakers but is otherwise the same (the rear speakers can be purchased separately at a later date).
Samsung also markets in its 2020 Q-series the 3.1.2-channel HW-Q800T and HW-Q70T as well as the 5.1-channel HW-Q60T.

Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Samsung Q950T soundbar has nine independent speaker elements, with one subwoofer, and four upward-firing channels (for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X) It's a surround sound system that offloads some of its job to the walls of the room it occupies. Hooking up the soundbar to a Samsung TV via HDMI eARC allows you to take full control of a lot of very convenient features.
Pros
- Sleek design
- Good sound quality
- Integrations with Samsung SmartThings platform
Cons
- No room correction
- No Dolby Atmos

Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Samsung HW-Q905T has a huge amount going for it. The scale of its sound is impressive, as are its surround-sound credentials. Set-up is straightforward, though can be time-consuming if you're looking to tailor 14 individual channels of information so they're all exactly to your preference. It's compatible with the 'Q Symphony' feature in all but the smallest of the company's 2020 range of QLED TVs.
Pros
- Impressive surround-sound performance
- Excellent build quality
Cons
- No Dolby Vision support
- Subwoofer isn’t as good as Sonos
techradar[4]
Reviewer score 93% (normalized by Neofiliac)Dynamic range is huge for a soundbar. Subwoofer delivers the sort of hugely deep rumbles you’d normally only expect to get with a high-end system of separates. New rear side channels ensure there are no gaps in the sound, even down the sides of very large rooms. Improved front/rear balance ensures the familiar Dolby Atmos dome of sound never sounds uneven.
Pros
- Dolby Atmos / DTS:X sound
- Impressive dynamic range
Cons
- Subwoofer isn’t as powerful as its predecessor
trustedreviews[5]
Reviewer score 87% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Samsung HW-Q950T soundbar has Atmos and DTS:X object-based audio, as well as delivering excellent fidelity with music and a surround soundscape for games. Detail levels are high and it creates an excellent soundscape to listen to. Loud sounds are definably potent, while quiet moments are handled with subtlety and control. At £1599 at the time of review, the Q950T is for the few, but often expensive products.
Pros
- Excellent Atmos/DTS:X performance
- Excellent sound quality
Cons
- Front-heavy sound
