Product Overview

The GT76 Titan is MSI's flagship gaming laptop with design inspired by exotic cars. Enclosed in a carbon-fiber body with streamlined aluminum cover, the GT76 Titan also sports grilles and metal mesh hints at the power within.
The GT76 Titan features up to 10-core Intel 10th-gen i9-10900K desktop processor that turbos up to 5.3GHz, which more than doubles the performance of the previous gen i7-9750H. The RTX 2080 SUPER GPU offers the most powerful graphics ever put in a laptop.
To manage this immense power, the MSI GT76 Titan features MSI Cooler Boost Titan heat management system, with 4 fans and 11 heat pipes.
For a more traditional build and somewhat less extreme feature set, MSI also markets the GT75 Titan.

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from laptopmag have found:
MSI employs a three-pronged attack, using 11 heat pipes, four fans and an undercarriage that's more vents than anything. The system lasted 3 hours and 45 minutes on the Laptop Mag Battery test. Despite its 720p shooter, the Titan delivered grainy and slightly washed-out images.
Pros
  • Sleek, sleek design
  • Excellent performance
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • Bloatware and bloatware

notebookcheck[2]

Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
GT76 is on the same level as other notebooks with the RTX 2080. We observed stuttering only in the extremely demanding Port Royal real-time ray tracing benchmark. MSI laptop features Nvidia’s Optimus technology, which helps improve battery life. While most notebooks get skewered when it comes to the question of the sound quality, the GT76 escapes unscathed.
Pros
  • Matte IPS display
  • High-quality metal case
  • Very good battery life
  • NVMe SSD
Cons
  • Very hot under load
  • No Thunderbolt 3

pcmag[3]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The cooling fans in the GT76 Titan DT are whisper-quiet for mundane tasks like office productivity. Once you fire up a game, though, be prepared for an audible assault. The sheer volume of airflow jetting through the numerous vents creates a high-pitched airflow noise. The battery simply isn't up to the demands of the power draw required by the components.
Pros
  • Powerful GeForce RTX 2080 GPU
  • Superb gaming performance
  • Comfortable keyboard and touchpad
Cons
  • Extremely loud fans
  • No G-Sync support

techradar[4]

Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The MSI GT76 Titan is an absolute beast of a gaming laptop. With its high-end desktop components and robust cooling solution, you'll be able to play every game at max settings without even breaking a sweat. But, it's still a big, bulky and not very portable, so it's also going to be very expensive.
Pros
  • Sleek, lightweight design
  • Excellent gaming performance
  • Excellent RGB lighting
Cons
  • Expensive for a gaming laptop
  • No portability

tomshardware[5]

Reviewer score 58% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
MSI's GT76 Titan gaming laptop costs $4,599.00 (£4,499) with a 17.3-inch, 4K display. It has an Intel Core i9-9900K desktop processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 with 8GB of memory, 64GB of DDR-2666MHz, a 1 TB, 7,200-RPM HDD and two 512GB PCIe NVMe SSDs in RAID0.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Bright 4K display
  • Long battery life
Cons
  • Loud speakers
  • Dim display

trustedreviews[6]

Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
The huge MSI deploys heavyweight desktop components. The desktop version of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 has the usual 2944 stream processors and 8GB of memory. The Intel Core i9-9900K is another desktop chip, and this CPU has eight multi-threaded cores, a base speed of 3.6GHz and a theoretical boost peak of 5GHz. There’s 64GB of DDR4, a 1TB RAID array made from two Samsung SSDs and a 1 TB hard disk.
Pros
  • Incredible performance
  • Solid build quality
  • Comfortable keyboard
Cons
  • Mediocre battery life
  • Poor trackpad
