Product Overview

The TriFlex HX1 is Miele's first rechargeable handstick vacuum cleaner. It features a patent-pending 3-in-1 concept and performs at a similar level as traditional canister vacuum cleaners.
The heart of the HX1 is the PowerUnit, consisting of a motor assembly, a rechargeable battery, and a dust box. The PowerUnit can be fitted either directly below the handle or close to the floor. In the latter configuration, the TriFlex can also stand upright unsupported. The PowerUnit can also be used without the handles as a more compact unit.
The TriFlex HX1 draws its suction power from its Vortex Technology also found on Miele's bagless Blizzard CX1. Its three-stage filtration system ensures hygienic dust disposal. Coarse dirt collects in the dust box, while finer particles are retained by the fine dust filter. Further, the Hygiene Lifetime Filter cleans discharged air, while the HEPA filter on the Cat & Dog and the Pro models even filters out the finest allergens in the air.

digitaltrends[1]

Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
With the dust bin, motor, and battery, the vacuum weighs around three pounds. It's definitely manageable but might get fatiguing for people used to only using a hose with an attachment. Its battery life is on the short side and it can get heavy in handheld mode. The $699 price tag is simply too high for many people.
Pros
  • Powerful dust bin
  • Easy to use
  • Large dustbin
Cons
  • Short battery life
  • Short dustbin

rtings[2]

Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Miele Triflex HX1 is excellent for bare floors. It sucks up pet hair as well as small and bulky debris like rice and cereal easily. It's also well-built and highly maneuverable, with a unique three-in-one design. While it's easy to maintain, it does have a small dirt compartment that you need to empty quite frequently.
Pros
  • Well-built and highly maneuverable
  • Very few recurring costs
  • Excellent pet hair and small and bulky debris
  • Sleek, lightweight design
  • Great pet hauling performance
  • Decent cleaning performance for bare floors and high-pile carpet
Cons
  • Small dirt compartment
  • No onboard HEPA filter
  • Cannot be used as a traditional stick vacuum

The Miele TriFlex comes in three models. The standard HX1 (£479), the Cat & Dog model (£579) and the Pro (£679) The Pro has additional features that the standard model does not: a HEPA-grade filter, lights and a turbo brush. Crucially, it also has a second battery you can swap out as well as a charging dock.
Pros
  • Excellent battery life
  • Easy to use
  • Two cleaning modes
Cons
  • Small dustbin
