External Reviews
digitaltrends[1]
Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)HD 450BT headphones offer balanced, relatively detailed sound. They do a good job of presenting instruments without “masking,” meaning instruments rarely get lost in the mix. The presence I expect from Sennheiser in the midrange and treble is lacking here. The cushy pads block plenty of unwanted bustle.
Pros
- Sleek, stylish design
- Solid noise cancellation
- Solid battery life
Cons
- Bass is lacking in the midrange and treble
pcmag[2]
Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)Sennheiser's HD 450BT headphones deliver solid noise cancellation for the price. They add as much hiss to the equation as most affordable ANC headphones do, and they eliminate a solid swatch of lower-frequency rumble. There is a slight difference in audio performance when ANC is enabled, but it is exceedingly subtle.
Pros
- Excellent audio performance
- Solid noise cancellation
- Comfortable fit
Cons
- No EQ in the app
rtings[3]
Reviewer score 29% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Sennheiser HD 450BT are okay for neutral sound. They have a slight overemphasis across the bass range and their treble is a bit dark. These headphones also have inconsistent mid and treble delivery, and their small ear cup holes can affect their seal on your head. You can tweak their sound to be more neutral via the graphic EQ and presets on their companion app.
Pros
- Very long battery life
- Okay noise isolation performance
- Good graphic EQ and presets on their companion app
- Comfortable fit
- Well-padded ear cups
Cons
- Some users may find their fit uncomfortable
- No audio cable to snag on or yank them off your head
techadvisor[4]
Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Sennheiser HD 450BT headphones are available in either white or black. Smart Control app allows incredible flexibility when it comes to finding the right balance for bass, mid and treble tones. The standard mix leans towards the bassier side, but this adds warmth. The headphones boast a 30 hour battery life on the box.
Pros
- Clear, clear sound
- Easy to use
- Comfortable fit
Cons
- Noise Cancellation is annoying
techradar[5]
Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Sennheiser HD 450BTs are a great alternative to the Sony WH-1000XM3. With 30 hours of battery life, they beat the Bose Noise-Cancelling Headphones 700. The noise cancellation works well enough, although you might find that these headphones don't quite block out all external noise. Our biggest bugbear is the flimsy-feeling build of these cans.
Pros
- Well-balanced sound
- Good battery life
- Decent noise cancellation
Cons
- Bass isn’t the best
trustedreviews[6]
Reviewer score 52% (normalized by Neofiliac)At £160 the Sennheisers are light on the purse strings. The HD 450BT won’t clear out too much noise, but they’re more for the casual listener than audiophile. Audio sounds clear with no noticeable hiss or harshness to recordings and vocals come through without distortion. With ANC engaged, the midrange gets boosted further forward, which has the effect of making voices more prominent.
Pros
- Decent sound quality
- Comfortable fit
- Decent battery life
Cons
- Noise cancelling isn’t effective
whathifi[7]
Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Sennheiser HD 450BTs are light and sturdy on your head, with the earpads clamping firmly over your ears to provide isolation and prevent unwanted movement. They may feel a bit tight on larger heads at first, but that should ease over time. Thanks to their reassuring build and foldable design, you won't be afraid to sling their compactly folded form into a bag or cram them into a coat pocket.
Pros
- Impressive noise-cancelling
- Comfortable fit
- Good battery life
Cons
- Noise cancellation isn’t for everyone
