nextpit[1]
Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)The FreeBuds 3 do not offer any physical keys and interaction takes place through gestures. The gestures, which essentially consist of a double-tap, work on both earphones. Bass is warm, but don't expect a fully immersive experience because of the open design. The maximum volume is high enough, but when set to maximum, the sound suffers and is slightly mechanical.
Pros
- Good sound quality
- Good battery life
- Good noise suppression
Cons
- No volume control
- No volume controls
techadvisor[2]
Reviewer score 63% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Freebuds 3 offer impressive sound quality with great bass levels. Call quality is very good, both in terms of the clarity of the person speaking to you as well as your voice. Vocals are crisp and clear, but the soundstage isn't quite as wide or instruments as well defined as with the Sony WF-1000XM3. With noise cancelling enabled, the Freebud 3 will last four hours.
Pros
- Great sound quality
- Good battery life
- Good noise cancelling
Cons
- Noise cancelling isn’t as effective as AirPods
techradar[3]
Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)Huawei FreeBuds 3 are an Android-only set of headphones. You can use the buds with iOS devices, but first, you need to set the parameters for noise-canceling and left and right double-tap functionality in the Android app. With no sound seal, ambient sound creeps through, but the FreeBud 3s still drown out constant background drones like engines or fans whirring. Firing up noise canceling takes the edge off annoying train drones and even helped us hear our music and audiobook more clearly.
Pros
- Sleek design
- Good sound quality
- Good battery life
Cons
- No active noise canceling
- Noise canceling isn’t for everyone
tomsguide[4]
Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)The FreeBuds 3 are a fine pair of earbuds, but like all Huawei phone products, they won't be going on sale in the U.S. Huawei promises 4 hours of battery life in the buds themselves and 20 in total with the charging case. You'll want to take a USB-C cable with you if you're going to be away from base for anything longer than two days.
Pros
- Sleek, stylish design
- Excellent sound quality
- Good battery life
Cons
- Noise cancelling can be annoying
- No NFC
trustedreviews[5]
Reviewer score 31% (normalized by Neofiliac)Pairing is very simple - just press the button on the side of the case to put them in pairing mode. If you have a Huawei phone (in this case a P30 Pro), the FreeBuds will swiftly pair up thanks to the new A1-chip. The loose fit is an odd choice for an ANC earbud – a good seal for noise isolation and ANC go hand-in-hand. Vocals have clarity and voices are very clear, and the syncing between the video you see and the audio you hear is perfectly fine.
Pros
- Good noise isolation
- Comfortable fit
- Good battery life
Cons
- Mediocre audio
- Poor ANC
