Product Overview

Panasonic RZ-S500W are sleek true wireless headphones. They feature Dual Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Technology by combining FeedForward Noise Cancelling (FF-NC), Feedback Noise Cancelling (FB-NC), and an Analog/Digital Processing hybrid for optimal suppression of ambient noise.
Thanks to the six MEMS microphones employed in the ANC system, the RZ-S500W deliver superior suppression of ambient noise also in calls.
The two channels can also be connected separately for music and calls.
Last but not least, IPX4 water resistance and ambient sound mode make the RZ-S500W a great versatile option.
Alongside the RZ-S500W, Panasonic also introduced the RZ-S300W at 2020 CES.

Reviewer score 71% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from androidauthority have found:
Each earbud connects to your device independently which helps to improve the experience. The 8mm dynamic drivers offer a familiar sound quality. While it's not a neutral frequency response like some people prefer, the Panasonic RZ-S500W is a great pick if your library is full of hip-hop and pop hits.
Pros
  • Comfortable fit
  • Good noise-cancelling
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No wireless charging
  • No active noise cancelling

digitaltrends[2]

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The Panasonic RZ-S500W are Panasonic's first widely available true wireless headphones with noise cancellation. Sound quality is slightly affected by the ANC, with music taking on a warmer, bassier tone. The battery life is longer than the AirPods Pro and around the same as Sony's. The experience overall isn't especially detailed, but they are fun and engaging.
Pros
  • Excellent noise cancellation
  • Comfortable fit
  • Good battery life
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Noise cancellation could be better
  • Battery life could be longer

laptopmag[3]

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from laptopmag have found:
Panasonic's RZ-S500W earbuds are the first truly wireless earbud on the market. There are a pair of mics dedicated to blocking out the irritating noise of the outside world. Panasonic claims they have an estimated 7.5 hours of battery life with ANC on.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Strong audio performance
  • Long battery life
Cons
  • Not as comfortable as AirPods Pro

pcmag[4]

Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Panasonic RZ-S500W earphones offer very good sound and surprisingly strong noise cancellation for under $200. The earphones can generate good clarity in the higher frequencies with solid treble finesse, but those frequencies don't get quite as much presence as the lows and mids. The built-in microphones for phone calls are medicore, but it sounded distant and fuzzy.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Strong bass
  • Good noise cancellation
Cons
  • Bass can overwhelm higher frequencies

techradar[5]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The Panasonic RZ-S500 pack a sonic punch, providing a warm, bassy soundstage. An IPX4 waterproof rating means that these wireless earbuds are suitable for working out. Battery life comes in at six hours of continuous playback with noise cancellation turned on, while the charging case offers a further 20 hours of juice.
Pros
  • Comfortable fit
  • Good noise cancellation
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Noise cancellation isn’t perfect
  • No ear fins

trustedreviews[6]

Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
The Panasonic RZ-S500W are true wireless ANC earbuds. They use Panasonic’s dual hybrid ANC tech to intelligently adjust noise cancelling between 50 levels to block out external sounds. The design lacks the premium finish of the more expensive Technics, but I like the fact they’re fairly unassuming. The only downside is that their tip options don’t include any form of clip or wing attachments.
Pros
  • Solid ANC performance
  • Good call quality
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Chunky design
  • No aptX support

whathifi[7]

Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from whathifi have found:
Panasonic RZ-S500W are true wireless earbuds with noise-cancelling. Touch capacitive panels on each bud are possibly the most responsive and intuitive we've tested within an in-ear design. Twin beamforming mics ensure clear calls throughout our tests. An IPX4 rating means that the earpieces should be able to handle a rainy day.
Pros
  • Excellent noise-cancelling
  • Intuitive touch controls
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • No auto-off wearer detection
