Product Overview

Nikon Coolpix B600 is an entry-level 1/2.3" compact camera with a large zoom range. Introduced by Nikon in 2019, it comes with a 1/2.3" sensor with 16 MP (4608 x 3456) resolution.
The camera has a poor battery life, and a second or third battery may be needed to get you through the day. One should note that the Nikon Coolpix B600 has a 125 base ISO, which is not conducive to getting the cleanest images.
Those who intend to use the Nikon Coolpix B600 for video work will be glad to find that the camera comes with 3 stops of IBIS. Nikon has endowed this compact camera with a 60x zoom lens, which can be quite useful for travels. Last but not least, the camera can focus quite close to the subject.

cameralabs[1]

Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cameralabs have found:
The Nikon COOLPIX B600 is a DSLR-styled 'bridge' super-zoom camera. It upgrades the 40x range of the earlier B500 with a longer 60x 24-1440mm zoom lens. It features Snapbridge which auto downloads 2 Megapixel photos to your phone in the background while you shoot using a Bluetooth connection. The B600 fills a niche for novice shooters who want stonking capability with simple hassle-free operation.
Pros
  • Super-zoom autofocus
  • Fast continuous shooting
  • Snapbridge app
Cons
  • No 4K video mode
  • No 5K video

digitaltrends[2]

Reviewer score 46% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The Nikon B600 offers maximum zoom on a minimum budget. Image quality suffers indoors and in low light, while even in good lighting the camera tends to stick with conservative shutter speeds. The camera lacks advanced features, but comes with a set of easy-to-use scene modes and a straight-forward menu system.
Pros
  • 60x zoom
  • Good image quality
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No manual controls
  • No 4K video

pcmag[3]

Reviewer score 63% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Nikon Coolpix B600 doesn't offer any sort of manual ISO control. The lens does deliver sharp results, netting 2,217 lines on a center-weighted test. There is a bit of loss of quality toward the edge of the frame. The stabilization system does as good as job as you can expect.
Pros
  • 60x zoom lens
  • Easy to use
  • Intuitive controls
  • Good image quality
Cons
  • No manual autofocus
  • No EVF

rtings[4]

Reviewer score 25% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Nikon COOLPIX B600 is inadequate for travel photography. It can't shoot RAW images, and shutter speed and aperture can't be changed manually. Its autofocus system also struggles to maintain focus on moving subjects. It's incapable of recording 4k video and can't record FHD video at any other frame rate aside from 30 fps.
Pros
  • Wide focal range
  • Optical stabilization feature helps reduce camera shake when shooting at longer zoom lengths
  • Long maximum focal length
  • Decently comfortable to operate
  • Can't shoot RAW images
Cons
  • Unreliable autofocus performance
  • No viewfinder
  • Bulky design
