Product Overview

Model X is the world's first electric crossover SUV with mass-market appeal vis-à-vis internal-combustion-engine-powered counterparts. Blessed with a set of powerful electric motors, Model X is the quickest SUV to have ever been produced.
Tesla has also designed the Model X with a range of innovative safety measures and feature comforts, including the world's most advanced autopilot system in a passenger vehicle, that make it a compelling substitute for traditional internal-combustion-engine-powered SUVs.
In 2021, the Model X received a facelift

autoexpress[1]

Reviewer score 65%
Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The Tesla Model X electric crossover is expected to outsell the manufacturer's Model S saloon. There's loads of space inside and the quiet, smooth and quick powertrain means it's a great way to travel. It won't appeal to keen drivers, or those with significant demands in terms of range, but if you can afford the high prices then the Model X could just be the SUV for you.

Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Impressive acceleration
  • Excellent range
Cons
  • Lack of powertrain options

carmagazine[2]

Reviewer score 80%
Reviewers from carmagazine have found the following***:
Our Model X was fitted with Tesla Autopilot, and it remains one of the best driving assistance packages on the market today. Traffic jams, motorway lane changes and sliproads are handled swiftly and smoothly. It errs on the side of aggressively cautious when confronted with cars that wander around their lanes too much. The charging experience will largely be determined by where you are in the country and what you do with your Model X.

Pros
  • Fantastic range
  • Supercharger network
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Autopilot isn’t for everyone
  • Lane changes can be awkward

carwow[3]

Reviewer score 83%
Reviewers from carwow have found the following***:
Unlike most seven-seat SUVs, there's enough space for adults to get comfy in the Tesla Model X's rearmost seats. It's dead easy to climb in thanks to the sliding middle row of seats. And, by virtue of having no engine in the front, the car also has an extra ‘boot’ under the bonnet with enough space to carry the car's charging cables and a set of golf clubs.

Pros
  • Super quiet
  • Powerful electric motor
  • Superb range
Cons
  • Not as good as a petrol- or diesel-powered SUV
  • Fiddly to use controls
