Product Overview

Sony RX0 II is the world's smallest and lightest premium compact camera. Introduced by Sony in 2019, it comes with a 1" sensor with 15 MP (4800 x 3200) resolution.
The camera has a poor battery life, and a second or third battery may be needed to get you through the day. One should note that the DSC-RX0 II has a 200 base ISO, which is not conducive to getting the cleanest images. The camera's 16.0 fps burst rate can serve professionals and enthusiasts equally well.
The RX0 II comes with 25 autofocus points.

Reviewers from t3 have found:
Sony's new ‘tiny tough’ also features electronic image stabilisation, which it's calling SteadyShot. It's a welcome upgrade to the earlier model, but performance isn't a patch on its competitors. The Sony is much more at home mounted to a tripod or sat on a fixed surface. In terms of cost, you're looking at an eye-watering £729.
Pros
  • Fantastic image quality
  • Excellent battery life
  • Excellent video quality
Cons
  • No fisheye lens
  • Short battery life

tomsguide[2]

Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
Sony's interface is cumbersome, filled with almost 30 pages of menus. Changing shutter speed, ISO, aperture and white balance are relatively easy. For a less-proficient user, there are fully automatic and intelligent automatic settings. Like the GoPro Hero7, the Sony RX0 II has built-in electronic image stabilization.
Pros
  • Great image quality
  • Good battery life
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • No touch screen
  • Limited image stabilization

trustedreviews[3]

Reviewer score 42% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
The Sony RX0 II has a 1-inch sensor and a 24mm lens. Sharpness and dynamic range are excellent, but some may find its colour a little too flat. It has autofocus, but you can’t refocus in the middle of shooting a video. It can also shoot slo-mo footage at up to 960fps, a great feature for well-lit action scenes.
Pros
  • Excellent sharpness and dynamic range
  • Good image stabilisation
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Limited exposure durations
  • No optical stabilisation
