Dyson Ltd is a British manufacturer of home appliances, most notably vacuum cleaners, air purifiers, hand dryers, bladeless fans, and hair dryers.

In the 1980s, James Dyson developed the first cyclonic vacuum cleaner. In 1991, he set up Dyson Appliances Ltd and built the first dual-cyclone vacuum, the DA 001.

Dyson licensed the technology in North American until 2001, after which it entered the market directly.

Dyson is best known for its vacuum cleaners, though it also markets successfully heatless hand dryers, bladeless fans, and other appliances.

Dyson vacuum cleaners come in all form factors, from the classic Dyson cordless stick vacuums to canister, upright, and robotic units. Each model tend to have several versions, with the Allergy model having suitable (HEPA) filters for microscopic allergens, the Animal version with a mini turbine to remove pet hair more effectively, and more.
