Throughout GMC's century-plus history, the company manufactured body-on-frame vehicles. At the late year of 2007, GMC introduced its first unibody vehicle, Acadia, a crossover. In 2009, it ended production of medium-duty commercial trucks after over 100 years.
Its current lineup includes light-duty pickup trucks (Sierra and Canyon) as well as crossovers (Acadia and Terrain) and SUVs (Yukon) based on Chevrolet models.
The GMC Hummer EV, an electric offroad utility vehicle in both SUV and pickup guises, is scheduled to be unveiled in autumn 2020 and to go on sale in 2021.
