Ferrari F8 Spider (F142MFL)
ConvertibleProduct Gallery
Product Overview
Ferrari F8 Spider (Type F142MFL) is a mid-size convertible sports car in production from 2019. It is powered by a bi-turbo V8 engine that displaced 3.9 liters.
Essentially the 2nd facelift of the 458 Italia (Type F142), after the 488 (F142M), the F8 Spider has gotten, unfortunately, uglier than ever before. It has evolved into a C8 Corvette.
On the plus side, Ferrari still uses a hard top, which places the car above many of its competitors in terms of usability. The car continues to deliver a top-down experience true to the brand.

External Reviews
autocar[1]
Reviewer score 91% (normalized by Neofiliac)The F8 Spider has, like the coupé variant, a largely aluminium platform. A carbon tub with strength in the sills is great for rigidity but the F8 has a still focused but more relaxed cabin. With an electronically controlled differential, sweeter gearshift and more responsive, better-sounding engine, it’s a more indulgent sports car.
Pros
- Powerful turbocharged 3.9-litre V8 engine
- Spacious interior
Cons
- Not as fast as a McLaren
- No nose lift option
autoexpress[2]
Reviewer score 100% (normalized by Neofiliac)This is a Ferrari that will flatter your driving; thrilling you without scaring you. The balletic folding hard-top will disappear in just 14 seconds – like the doors, it's carried over from the 488 Spider. Adaptive Performance Launch controls the amount of torque delivered depending on grip levels. Ferrari's Variable Torque Management also features, ramping up the torque levels as you fly through the gears.
Pros
- Gorgeous looks
- Powerful V8
- Fantastic infotainment system
Cons
- Lack of turbo lag
carmagazine[3]
Reviewer score 94% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Tributo design is more harmonious than the roof-up Spider. The coupe's cooler too, with its F40-inspired rear screen and view over the V8. The engine remains a 3.9-litre V8, but it evolves the base 488's unit with 50 per cent new parts.
Pros
- Powerful V8
- Powerful turbocharged engine
- Comfortable ride
Cons
- Not as exciting as the 488 Spider
