Product Overview

Maserati GranCabrio (Type M145) is a large luxury convertible in production from 2010 to 2019. It was available with a range of V8 engines that displaced 4.7 liters.
Unlike the GranTurismo on which it is based, the GranCabrio was not offered with the smaller 4.2L V8 engine. Essentially, even the base model is a GranTurismo S.
Overall, this car is the most elegant and sensuous in its class, perhaps only falling short of the Rolls-Royce on some fronts.
With a 14.5L/100km (16.2mpg) fuel "dis-economy", owners have to be prepared to pay for their "smiles-per-mile". Utility-minded owners will likely need to keep an alternative for hauling things around, as the tiny cargo space is almost surely insufficient.

Reviewers from carmagazine have found the following***:
The GranTourismo is such a beautiful car that it's hardly surprising it manages to remain achingly pretty despite the loss of a lid. The new Sport may be readily identified from its more demure GranCabrio sibling through bespoke front corner splitters and side skirts, a back grille and headlamps, body coloured door handles and black exhausts. On board, a gently warmed over interior features longer, Trofeo racing car-style steering column-mounted shift paddles fitted as standard.

Pros
  • Gorgeous looks
  • Impressive handling
  • Comfortable ride
Cons
  • Not as fast as it sounds
  • Not as agile as it looks

Reviewers from carwow have found the following***:
The Maserati GranCabrio is a stylish soft-top with a plush-feeling interior and an old-school V8 engine that sounds absolutely brilliant. It's starting to feel a little old-fashioned when you compare it to the much newer BMW 8 Series Convertible and Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet. The cabin doesn't look anywhere near as modern as those you get in the 8 Series and isn't as intuitive to use, either.

Pros
  • Fantastic V8 engine
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Old-fashioned infotainment system
  • Interior isn’t as comfortable as rivals
